This wasn’t an undefeated team

Our offensive line was so disappointing today. Can someone address this? We overrate players every year. This year the DL OL is the culprit. We knew our secondary sucked. Maybe same with linebacker
Huh?

O needed to score but you have to watch how the 28 happened
When you keep the ball away for such long drives , converting third downs while scoring 28 it’s much worse than scoring 38-42 when scoring with tempo. You put more pressure on the opponents offense having to make their possessions count , you keep them off the field , keep them out of sync and lastly wearing down the defense. Breaking their spirit. Those 28 points was the equivalent of getting beat up with body shots for ten rounds then getting the tko late.

don’t forget to glaze these players more every spring and fall buddy. This program is a joke and always will be a joke. Number 4 team and can’t beat a 5-4 team and could barely beat Louisville cal Va tech.
That’s the thing though. We are a 5-4 team too if not for lucking into Cam Ward. He goes to the draft and you have to convince me which p4 games we actually win. Mario can’t recruit a full roster and doesn’t know how to choose staff. If we don’t have next years cam ward we are back out of the conference/playoff discussion. It is what it is, he has had three full classes and like 6 portal windows and we are trash at like 8 spots on D with a coach that seemingly has no idea how to prepare.

I have to be honest. I never loved the hire but I dont want to hear players. when I see robby, Pruitt, and chase flying around making plays yet they dont gtet alot of burn, it annoys me.

overall though, name me the kind on this roster who are surefire NFL talents? Francis is the only one imo.
We don’t need 22 first team all Americans or 1st rounders to beat GTs of the world

Miss me with any talent issues…. This team is good enough to make the playoffs and win game or two and depending on the matchup line up for natty

The defense under Guidry is a complete liability that I struggle with us even getting a win in a 50+ point shoot out unless the other team plays keep away from cam for four quarters

Correct. The 11 minute drive changed the game.

Coach made a mistake not kicking the FG on 4th and 3 after they had that ball control drive. Once GT showed they could control the clock, you gotta take points when they're on offer. Possessions we're gonna limited the rest of the way.

I agree. Cam is a gunslinger and it caught up with us but Guidry has been the problem. He rewards kids with PT who make bad mistakes. hes a mess. I really would like to see him go. Actually I'd like to see that GA Tech DC get a look. hes an Elko guy

They don’t win any of them. This is a Florida/FSU like season without Ward but he deserves as much blame as anyone for today. You want to tell me he’s a Heisman front runner? Yea right.

Mario needs to bring in players who IQ’s are higher than 50 because the **** we have seen in game for years doesn’t happen at the Oregon’s, Georgia’s, OSU’s, Bama’s, Texas of the world.

This team needs to get value out of the bye week and handle its business. The goal remains an ACC Championship. I'm less optimistic on the defense than ever, but the offense will give us a chance. Go Canes.
Good luck :)

Still handing out free passes and moving goalposts I see.....

Does the defense even practice together? The back 7 are always trying to figure who got who and when the other offense shifts or motions, our defense looks confused as all get out.

Thought I read somewhere recently we have tempered down our practices - sounds like we do 1 on 1 or good on good, but in very controlled settings - how are we able to hold the starters accountable and make them earn their keep in practices since the youngsters weren’t getting any burn in the early parts of the year.

I’m tired of coach speak in saying so and so is flashing in practice and we are expecting them to get burn… only to stick with the usual suspects in game defining series.

So if history is any indicator, whenever we blew a game that we needed to have, we usually get a big time recruit to try and take the stink off the game. I suspect we will have a commitment this week.

coach D was right about one thing "can he play safety?" Harris clearly cant. Powell is slow.

Ny Carr committed the day after the GT game last year I'm pretty sure :pgdead:

The irony of Guidry's D looking like **** is that besides FSU, 29 is the fewest he's given up in conference play.

The team's record is more accurate than it was yesterday. I wish we got away with it, but we didn't this time. You only have so many comebacks. My knee-jerk thoughts:

- The defense is the story for me. We gave up 271 yards rushing to a team with no QB and no RB. We lost time of possession 35 minutes to 25 minutes. We gave up 9 of 14 third downs. On a critical 3rd and 18, we couldn't win up front and left someone running wide open. It was a bad day.

Here's the frustrating part: Guidry had more cards to play than his opponent, and still lost. That's not just a talent issue. I thought the defense would start creeping towards average over the last four games, but we're going in the opposite direction.

- My biggest disappointment is the defensive end position. Before the season, we all knew our secondary would be a weakness. The hope was we'd kill just enough drives with our pass rush. That hasn't panned out consistently. Zero sacks today. Pass rush opportunities were limited, but part of the reason is that the edges were so soft that Georgia Tech controlled down and distance. We just don't perform like a team with two NFL DEs.

- Cam Ward is still the best player in the country. No serious person would compare him to Dillon Gabriel. But he was off today. Missed throws early and struggled with his pocket presence. He had checkdowns available for chunk plays that he consistently turned down. He's the least of my worries, but it wasn't his best day.

- The only bright light was OJ Frederique. That's what a playoff-caliber defensive back looks like. We don't have enough of them.

- If I could bring a recent player back, it might be Jaquan Johnson. We lack a tone-setter in the back seven. The guys that know how to play aren't twitchy, and the guys that are twitchy are either injured or green. Teams are going to continue to challenge our perimeter tackling, and I don't know if we have an answer.

- I didn't mind the decisions to go for it on fourth down. That's who we've been all year. The playcalls and execution are fair to question, but I like trusting the guys who got us here.

- Elijah Arroyo is a high-round NFL pick. Difference-making speed at his size.

- We didn't have a terrible day with penalties (3-35) but it could have been more if a couple targeting calls and a facemask went the other way. This has been a problem all year.

- It's a shame that Popo Aguirre got injured, because he was playing really good football in a LB group that is taking steps backwards. Teams are continuing to take advantage of Kiko Mauigoa in space.

- I'd like to see the All-22 to see how much separation our receivers were getting. We will continue to get challenged by teams with athletic corners.

- I hate that we have to worry about other ACC teams losing. We've been here before and it always ends poorly. But we are in a strong position compared to the past. Most tiebreaker scenarios favor us.

When you run stunts all game how can fbe de get the qb ? How can you contain either . Other d cord has been dog **** all year
