The same finish

Ummm I obviously do. Macho and I have had plenty back and forth over the years and most have been in agreement with each other.

You see how long I've been on this board?

I coach too, BTW and I know football quite well my **** self.

Macho doesn't need you to put on a cape for him. He's a big boy he can handle little ol me.
He absolutely needs no one to cape for him. Sometimes the obvious needs to be mentioned by a third party. 10 years on CIS is something to be proud of. You keep doing you.

You obviously don’t know who you’re arguing with. @Coach Macho has been a highly regarded HS DC for years. If anyone on this board knows what he’s talking about concerning football, it’s him.
This is the kind of stuff that leads the board astray... the same thing happens with a few other posters --- people hero worship them -- while this next part does not apply to Macho -- I have put on ignore a small group of posters people tend to cite as real men of genius here -- to see if I missed anything all season -- what I missed? -- Zero. Zilch. Zero vital information. All I saved was screen time reading their thesis length posts, biased information defending their friend and then slowly walking it back over time.

All are entitled to their opinion, but we also need to weigh elements of bias.

And hire who mid-season?

Mid-season? What are you talking about? Today is December 30, 2024. Our last regular season game was 11/30. Any other defensive coach on the staff could have been interim DC for the Pop Tart bowl and given up 42 points.

No doubt there are MANY arm chair QB’s that have never even stepped on a football field let alone coached at a high level. You and I have been on these boards long enough to have been able to weed out the imposters from those that know their *** from a hole in the ground.

If he doesn't need it, then stop doing it.

I was conversing with Macho and discussing the nuances of football before you even joined this board. As you asked did I know who I was talking to? Like a 🍆gargling fanboy.

Hence why I brought up my tenure, in response to your comments.

Are you as dense as Dawson in the redzone or what?

Go type another ten thousand posts of mindless drivel and leave me be please. I've had no issues or qualms with you. How tf are you trying to pick with me over a disagreement between me and another man?

That's some super weird ****.

Gotcha. Resorting to personal insults tells me all I need to know. I’ll move on and scroll past in the future.

Miami was 17th in the country in red zone touchdown percentage and second in the country in total red zone touchdowns. All that talk about your football experience and you still can't use the Internet? Sorry to hear that bruv.

The upward trajectory of this program has been limited due to a concerning number of missteps and poor decisions by Mario along the way.

Don't get me wrong, he's made some very positive moves, bringing in guys like Martinez and Cam, trying to build through OL/DL because the best teams are usually the best there...and last but not least, getting money people onboard to fund NIL, something other HC candidates may not have been able to do here.

That said....Mario deficiencies as a scheme guy and and questionable hiring process continues to show. He hasn't been able to get coaches to mesh with each other or the roster. He hasn't shown the acumen to step in and take over when things sour in-game or in-season. And he hasn't been able to identify/develop talent at need positions cycle after cycle, including building depth at the most important position on the team....QB. The program is in constant chase mode. Chasing a QB. Chasing a new coordinator. Chasing portal guys because a position group is entirely depleted, like DB. That is a tough place to be for any coach. The focus is everywhere but inside those walls trying to develop as a team/program.

This year's should have ended on a better note. The schedule was a cake walk. Cam was a blessing. Instead of losing 3 out of the final 4, the play of Cam and that offense should have catapulted this program into the playoffs and discussion of top teams next year. It didn't. It continued to push the narrative that Mario's ceiling is limited, being more a builder than winner...and that Miami as a program continues to be marred by cultural problems (some coaches, some players) and undisciplined play...failing on the big stage. Did any notice how much garbage ISU players were talking after each play? I would guarantee they didn't talk that much in any game all year.

While some might be happy with 10 wins, I'm not. It just doesn't feel right, too many unanswered questions and missed opportunities. I can't look at that number in a vacuum and ignore the rest. Richt's 2nd year he won 10 (losing his final 3). The year after? 7, including no depth at QB and needing to chose between Malik Rosier and freshman N'Kosi Perry. Ok, one example doesn't make a program right? Let's go back to Golden.....his 3rd year he won 9, improving by 1-2 wins each year, but after starting 7-0, lost 4 of final 6 due to awful defense (36-48 points allowed in each). Year 4? 6, once again including no depth at QB and needing to start true frosh Brad Kayaa bc roster QBs were Ryan Williams and Jake Heaps. Can we say Emory/Judd and Luke Nickel? The similarities to previous regimes is eerily similar....

Mario has a chance....get a QB and fix the defense. Some of the best teams this program has had were built on those ideals....QB play and defense. If he fails to do so, 2025 will likely implode and the walls to close in quick from fans AND possibly donors. He can't keep missing on staff hires. Those coaches are critical for these elite kids to want to come here, knowing they can/will be developed for the NFL. The NIL is nice but others will always outspend, and the true dogs who aren't blinded by the flash of quick cash will chose elsewhere for development and long money. This next month is critical for this program.
