DT: Justin Scott, Armondo Blount, Elijah Griffin (All three 5 stars), Artavius Jones, Daylen Russell, and likely Walter Mathis. So 6 over 2 years is fine.
EDGE: Marquise Lightfoot, Iose Epenosa (Both 5 stars), Booker Pickett, Cole McConathy, Elias Rudolph, and one more this class. So 6 over 2 years again is fine.

That's elite, and fine numbers wise, cause you want 8 or 9 for each position.


Maybe we got 4 CBs, 2 S, AND Amari Wallace who could do either. So 7 instead of 8 that I listed... Idk man I think this HS DB class needs to be big.
Right now if everyone were to return, in 2025 we'd have:
1yr Elig: Dyoni Hill and Jadais Richard
2yr Elig: Damari Brown
3yr Elig: Robert Stafford, Ryan Mack, Romans Federique

Thats 6 CBs returning, best case scenario. 11 is the ideal number of CBs to carry. Now maybe you say 4 HS and 1 transfer, which I'd be on board with. But I don't see us adding less than 5 CBs at the end of the day. And I think there is a decent chance 1 guy leaves - Between Hill possibly declaring or Richard/Stafford transfering out. So maybe 4 HS and 1 portal is the best move just because you don't want to create a logjam.

Safety, I'd be shocked if Balom returned. And it would be not shocking at all if Isaiah Thomas just doesn't fully recover or isn't the guy they thought after injuries, and ends up leaving or something. To me we probably have 4 playable Safeties in 2025. So need 2 no matter what imo. **** could get 2 and a portal guy...

Then again if we get Hanks, Pickett, and Stubbs, I'd probably have a complete IDGAF what Mario chooses, we just won big no matter what mentality to the rest of the db class lol

Had the same thought at DT. 2 could be enough, but not 2 3T guys.

I'm not sure about 11 CBs being ideal (that's 13% of you scholarships), but I understand the numbers at CB. That said, I have to imagine they're going to bring in portal players next go around.

Agreed on Hanks, Pickett, and Stubbs. That's a win!

Thats 85. Obviously we need a Kicker and Punter, so you can take 2 off somewhere. Maybe you're right 10 is better at CB since they don't sub out as much as WR even though generally there are 3 main CB starters.

Nickel is a corner. He can do alot of things as you know. It’s just great to have this dog in! Serious question. If you had to pick one for this team and what we will need next year would you take Hanks or pickett ?

Gun to head, probably Pickett because of the versatility with us needing help at both CB and S but it’s close. Both guys have R1 ceilings and both guys walk into the 2 deep bare minimum in 2025 without much resistance IMO.

I couldn’t agree more. Certain classes we have a wish list especially cases where we are weak. To me there’s no excuse with money and Mario to lose Pickett. Al Golden could seal this! So to me he has to be the top target. I have Iowa ties to the staff and I was told Miami is strong for Espenesa. But we have D lineman. We need to nail DB. I love Wallace! I’m an Ewald fan. I’d love Hanks because of how badly we need corner. But Pickett to me is the Rueben Bain of this class. And at 6-4 and can line up all along the secondary. Get it done

I can’t see Miami taking 2 from the Seseu, Sowells, and Smith group. All are 6’1-6’2 sub 290lb so they would be limited to C in Mario’s OL. **** they would smaller than most of centers they have recruited the last several years (Alex Forsyth, Powers Johnson, Connor Lew, Matt Lee, Amaury Wiggins, Nico Francavilla etc) they all have been 6’3-6-4 300+.

The more and more I look into the IOL, I hope Buchanan is the one we can get. His film/demeanor reminds of me Jackson Powers Johnson.

That DL even without Griffin and Grady would really good. Lee is very underrated imo.

I think QB, OL, RB are on 1-1 sub basis with portal if I didn't list it (i.e. if no QB #1 emerges, we bring in one and one leaves…If Kirk or R.Washington don't hang around, we bring in another one).

Other players that are possible that I'd like to see get in this class:
Buchanon, RB 2 Louis or SMK, an additional DB of Manfred/Fitzgerald/or one of the other safeties listed above, and of course Griffith and Grady who you make room for.

Players/spots from my list I could see leaving, choosing elsewhere, or being passed on this this class
