The fact that we're not being mentioned with any QBs AND that Mateer isn't in the portal yet is a good sign.

Let's see if Oklahoma is willing to wait it out. They're not in a very strong position so I'm curious to see what they do.

I think we're in a good position if the coaches ACTUALLY believe Emory has what it takes. Dawson has been with him 2+ years now and he's earned the benefit of the doubt when it comes to QBs.

We can tell Mateer we've got a great package for you and we're going all in for you and not going after anybody else. But if it doesn't work out we'll stack the roster for Emory (probably get 2+ extra playmakers for the price of Mateer).

The bigger problem with rolling with Emery is his backup is a true freshman Luke Nickel. So you’ll have to sign another portal QB and the plan is to sign one that wouldn’t compete with Emory if the plan is to trust Emory and let him be great.
strangely enough, that doesn't make me worried. Nickel looks like a gamer and I don't think he'd be worse than Emory was in his first game.

I’ve been critical of Emory but if the options are going with him next year and reallocating the funds to securing a monster Defense vs spending $1 million on Mendoza and hoping dudes like Karnely are the answer then it’s a no brainer give me option A
Based upon what we have seen on D in the portal and Guidry's body of work ... there is no monster.

If Mesidor is getting lousy NFL grades, then how good is he really?

Doesn’t make him a bad college player necessarily and to be fair Cam was not getting good NFL grades last year and now he is.
NOT COMPARING MESIDOR TO CAM...just saying it doesn't make him a bad player.

I think he's a very good college end when healthy. I imagine the coaches encouraged him to carry a little more weight this year because he played so much DT, which took away some of his speed around the edge.

I'd like him to come back next year. And not be asked to play DT or cover NFL-quality 3rd down backs out of the backfield.

Lost me at chasing that Karney cat...y'all fall for the same **** every year.
Adding on the Emory bull**** was just confirmation.

I don't think anyone here is falling for Karney.
I think people here like the idea of adding the wsu CB (visiting now) and the utha CB (hopefully visiting soon).

I remember being in a place last year (wont say where I was) where the coronation of Poff and how great he was by some people had me feeling dirty (pause). I went home and immediately took a shower.

Here we are again, 1 year later with Emory.

I could be wrong but I think the point was that we ended up with Cam after similar things were said last year. Hopefully it works out the same.
