LBs must be a struggle if we haven’t seen a single report from anyone with kool aid to talk them up other than “talent is there”

I was in the boat about playing the young guys till we figure it out but start the feelers and bring in a proven guy… this defense can’t be a liability three years in a row and be the reason we miss the playoffs again
What is there to see about lbs when u aren't In full.pads?.

I mean we can move the goal post to everything… how do we know the DBs are worth a **** when Emory is currently QB one and he’s proven he struggles with the forward pass…

LB play has been mid and if the eyes seeing the team are seeing the same spring ball reps as the past few years it’s not shocking to sound the alarms

And there were other times that Ward was able to build some high rises off Brickell
Miami played about 5 players with any pass rush on the year, 4 logged a sack. 9 sacks allowed in those 4 games vs those 5 dudes. Helps to play chit defenses with no pass rush

I dont think the defense was the reason we sucked 2 years ago, ppl actually thought it was the strength of our team and wanted guidry extended, I truly dont know what in the f happened last year it was mind boggling how bad it was.

At the G5/FCS levels you don't have to adjust and change as much because less eyes are on your film. Guidry got picked apart by ACC staffs. Imagine what the SEC and Big 10 would do to him with a dozen slaps watching 30 games of tape on you

I think Cam bailed the OL out of a lot of jams, as did late season Martinez-Cooper with the drag and grind. I'm looking forward to seeing what Mirabal can do with an immobile Beck and Fletcher as #1
Yeah Cam was a pocket connoisseur. I think our line played well, there were times where Cam stood in there like a statue didn't even have to shuffle his feet. As far as this season I expect them to lean much more on the run game and quick YAC/TE opportunities cause Beck aint what Cam was in terms of pocket presence or arm talent. Cam also had a tendency to hold on to the ball looking for homerun plays instead of taking wide open checkdowns which put much more pressure on the line, we wont see that with Beck.

Beck has a little TVD in him with taking less sacks and throwing more picks. I hope they can get Lofton involved in the check down game

Good news with LBs is we really only need 2

If we grab someone in the portal then one of Popo or Hayes has to step up. Pruitt is my favorite at the spot but with his size who knows.

Shame about Washington’s injury. Seemed like he was getting close

The staff is not going to get a LB just to get a LB. We're done with acquiring a guy like Rocky Shelton, Alderman or Cloyd. Quality over Quantity is always the key in the portal. If he isn't a stud that will 100% elevate this team, there is no reason to take him. I'm kind of skeptical that a good option will be there in the spring portal window, buy I hope I'm wrong

I can’t say too much because this is Heathermans show now. He didn’t recruit these guys and he will have his own thoughts.

I mentioned the kid from Rutgers earlier because when it comes to options these days you never really know. He could have connections we don’t know about and Miami is a great destination for anyone. We’ve got money. That opens up the options.

The room might not be elite but it’s also not full of 3 star projects. The room is a question mark but same time I’m optimistic

The problem with that room is that there isn't a lack of depth, it's just a very young room and has some great potential. Hypothetically if we were to make no additions to that room, I think it's definitely serviceable and we'd likely see better play as the year goes on. It's definitely more serviceable than DB was last season. If the staff wants to add to high productive lbs in the spring portal. Personally I'd rather get one expensive Safety and one LB, but its hard to gage what the portal will look like

I’ve got my own bias though

I thought Popo would be one of the next really good UM linebackers. Pruitt and Bobby Washington are my other two favorites

I’m a big Heatherman fan so maybe that’s why I’m optimistic it’ll get sorted out

Aguirre and Bissainthe were big-time recruits who are now plenty experienced. If Hegseth can't get them to play effectively in 2025 then WYD?
