Money talks. Sounds like the pocket book wasn't prepared for a late season **** the bed scenario.
This is what I'm struggling to get: Daddy Warbucks spent enough money to get us the roster we had, but not enough to fix the obvious issues we had in the secondary. Then, after those secondary issues significantly contribute to our failure to get in the ACC Championship game that's when the wallet is closed? Strikes me as an odd way to invest.

Bruh….EVERY school every year incoming freshmen class, especially at the bigger schools, will make more than the previous class. The price of the brick is going up every year
I compare it to the way NFL rookie contracts used to go up every year until they became fixed and unalterable.

In 2007 Jamarcus Russell got 61 million, 32.7 million guaranteed
In 2008 Matt Ryan got 67 million, 34.75 guaranteed
In 2009 Matthew Stafford got 72, 48.4 guaranteed
In 2010 Sam Bradford got 78 million, 50 million guaranteed

That's where all this is headed without any kind of legislation. The only thing missing is holdouts.

What we need to focus on even in the portal is depth. If Stubbs doesn’t want to be here then fine. Go 7-5 at UF. He’s a year away anyways. We need legitimate depth pieces throughout the defense and at WR/IOL/QB on Offense.

If that means we’re replacing his 125k(theoretically) for a guy that’s going to come in and play in the rotation right away then it’s a win.

‘26 is the “this is it” class for me anyways. That’s 4 years of this staff building relationships. IF Mario is who he says he is then this is where his chops will truly show.

We could have dodged a bullet. Likely not worth what he is being paid.

we got mesh Powell out of the ******* portal. jadais Richard and dyoni hill. we stink at portal evals too.

If I was Stubbs I would also have my doubts being corched by Guidry. Mario needs to make the move but he will wait while other recruits jump ship.
Have to think Guidry saying Safeties are his area and then seeing how bad they looked and the possibility of him being fired. What is he committing to here?

True but on the flipside, if more so when Billy and UF go back to losing then what lol. Their schedule is basically the same next year. Teams will have tape on Lagway

Powell isn’t that bad. He is overcompensating for the players around him.
hes a sixth year guy for a reason. hes not as bad as the others but hes not fast (also really isnt a S but our amazing coaches felt good with what we had).
