Mario is an above average recruiter. However, NIL has watered down much of that for all coaches. His recruiting still doesn’t overshadow his mediocre coaching.

All that said I find it shocking how many of you can’t remember **** year to year with recruiting. Not saying we might not have someone flip, but it seems like every year we have a story about a guy or two flipping at the end to generate clicks along with making us feel satisfied with what we already have which is an average class that will probably fall in the 10-15 range which after a 10-2 season is a very mediocre outcome.

I didn’t say he’s a better recruiter than Mario.

He is a way better coach than Mario. He runs circles around Mario. A lot of head coaches do (including Key up at Georgia Tech).

Kiffin, for all the **** talking some of you all do, is 43-18 at Ole Miss.

Before he got there, they were a bottom feeder SEC Team. He’s gotten two 10+ win seasons in his tenure there. Ole Miss rarely has ever done that prior to Kiffin.

In this new era where you can tap into the portal and high school recruiting is not what it used to be, coaching is a more important factor.

If you can’t make the right hires or have a direct impact on game day, you are really a relic.

Mario has the offensive line. Ok - super important, but then he has little impact on anything else outside of that.

Time will prove this one way or another. We can revisit this in 2 years.
Sorry they went all in this year and Kiffin the Gaww lost 3 games. He's not that great.

And we didn’t go all in this year?

Kiffin has won 8,9,10 and 11 games in 5 seasons. Mario hasn’t come close to achieving any of that yet.

Let’s see how it shakes out next year. Both programs will have new QBs and changes all over the roster.

Mario is an elite recruiter not average what a stupid thing to say
elite recruiter in an era when elite recruiters matter the least ever thanks to NIL. Would rather have an elite X and O guy who is a garbage recruiter with a great NIL game.

This is Zay Mincey all over again. Zay was “committed” silently for months. Stubbs was public because they weren’t doing that again.

Still worked out the same way. More money swooped in last minute.

Jacksonville kids flake harder than South Florida kids and it’s SEC country.

I said it in the Nix thread..im wondering if we are in "yesterdays price, isnt today price" season where after further review of a kids Sr film and the condition of that respective position group..we are re-evaluating NIL distribution. Because god knows I would rather spend whatever NIL money we offered Stubbs to a Safety in the portal who can help us IMMEDIATELY.

And furthermore, Cribby said he saw the kid live and wasnt blown away. Actually said he was not impressed at all. Which was very surprising to hear. Not saying we should drop Stubbs, but just saying we shouldnt overpay for him either. We got alot of work to do in the portal for immediate positional needs and Safety is at the top of the list.

We should’ve bought the safety from Indiana that was in the portal who was a SF kid still hurting we didn’t get him

Ponds. He would have been a nickel here. Not safety. And according to those in the know..we went after him hard..he chose to stay loyal to his coach and follow him to Indiana. Cant blame the kid for loyalty. College football could use alot more of that nowadays.

I agree on the second part. If we did it sure didn't feel like it with the defense.
