We went a decade without a top 10 kid. That’s 100 kids. Not one believing in Miami. Wild.

We will agree to disagree but Wes had loads up hype coming out. LOADS. (pause). I heard "Sean Spence type Freshman year impact" when people spoke about him. Even if Wes had the same or near same numbers as Spence did his freshman year I definitely know he didnt have the same impact. We knew Spence was going to be a problem after that UF game when he threw Tebow to the ground and looked like he belonged out there as a TF. Never really got that feeling at all this year with Wes.

Im not giving up on him. Im saying this year we need him. Learning curve over. Time to show us something. We cant keep going to the portal because guys we depended on to be ready arent developing fast enough. (looking at you Chris Graves)

Spence is an outlier and arguably the best LB to play for Miami in 15 years.

Most guys need time to put on weight and get acclimated to the physicallity of college football. Wes is going to be a good player for Miami but was thrown into the fire to early.

We absolutely sucked last year and deserve any and all criticism thrown our way from anyone. However, I hope like **** at least 1 or 2 recruits are smart enough to respond to Brent Vegetables "sir, 45-3 is in fact bad, what does that make 49-0?"

Y’all sitting in here sucking off Venables who had arguably just as bad of a season as we did. Talking about he’s got balls.

Lmao you guys think Mario wouldn’t get in his **** if they crossed paths at a school (especially in South Florida)? As if Mario hasn’t done that before to an opposing coach? I understand the frustration but some of y’all just get completely illogical, with no recollection of anything positive just because we’re in a slump recruiting.

Also, finishing with another Top 10 class would be a **** of an achievement. Here are the teams who have stacked back-to-back Top 10 classes in the last 6 cycles:

2018-2019:

UGA
Texas
Alabama
Clemson
Oklahoma

2019-2020:

Alabama
UGA
Texas
A&M
LSU
Michigan
Florida
Clemson

2020-2021:

UGA
Alabama
Clemson
LSU
Ohio State
A&M

2021-2022:

Alabama
Ohio St
UGA
Clemson
A&M
Notre Dame
Oklahoma

2022-2023:

Alabama
UGA
Ohio St
Texas
Oklahoma

That's all. So you can see how few teams do this back to back years. It's basically 5-6 teams per year. Alabama and UGA are the only 2 teams who have done it for 6 consecutive years. Ohio State is the only team to have done it the last 3 years. You can see how rare this is and how elite the teams are who do it. Back to back in the Top 10 is how you build a program. If Mario can pull it off with a 5-7 season stuck in the middle of it, that's a **** of an accomplishment.
So this would be a first for Mario as well? No Oregon on that list...

Venables isn't punching down.

I actually like Venables comments and overall think they are a net positive. He definitely put his balls on the table with those comments but now he can be held to them. Okie will need to show it on the field now. They specifically and verifiably called us out on satellite radio. Mario can use this because if we win and they don’t this season…

At this point Mario is losing on the trail to Okie this cycle and the comments were completely unnecessary IYAM. Unless of course there is a reason for Venables to have made those statements and we are more in it for Jackson and Stone than we are lead to believe. I just don’t see any advantage of him singling us out.

Coming back down to earth and not letting any bias or emotion come into it.

We are being negatively recruited more than ever and the fact that a coach would come out and call us out like that proves it.

Money isn’t the issue. It’s having to pay more than the frontrunners because of the past 20 years and last years abortion.
According to the insiders innis was offered more than what osu gave him. And there lies the problem. We don’t have the product to attract kids based on money alone.

But anyone ethat acts like they know for sure what our record is gonna be is just crazy.
There are too many new pieces including both coordinators.

I think we can be confident that we will be better. But no one will say for sure by how much.

Let’s hope for a good close to the cycle.

I guess the demands that come with $80 million have given way to “realistic goals”.

I’m honestly flabbergasted at the shift in expectations and where the bar has now been set. Especially considering the fact Mario’s alleged Xs and Os deficiencies were to be masked by his elite recruiting.

There has been a lot of talk about moving the goalposts in terms of expectations. So I figured we could write down some goals in this thread and see how they pan out. Here are mine:

1) Land 3-4 Top 100 Composite players by the start of the season

We have two Top 100 Composite players committed- DE Marquise Lightfoot (62) and RB Kevin Riley (70). This is a goal, not a prediction, but I think we have a chance to add three or four more by the time the season starts. This will help build a base of impact players so we are not overly reliant on flipping. For reference, below is a list of Top 100 players by class in the Composite Era. NFL players are bolded.

The Shannon Era

Seantrel Henderson-2

2) Put together a season that breeds confidence from fans and outside observers

This one is self-explanatory. I don't have a number- you know it when you see it. The 2016 season is a good example. There were ups and downs, but by the end of the year most people inside and outside the program felt we were headed in the right direction.

3) Finish with a Top 10 Class

If we accomplish Goals 1 and 2, this will put us in a position to flip some targets and land in the Top 10. Miami hasn't landed consecutive Top 10 classes since 2005- nineteen years ago. This is why we brought in Mario. Add in some good transfers and a high-quality transition class in '22, and this should have Miami's roster in position to take another step.
Is there gonna b any fireworks like u said tHis week or was that BS
