Miami targeting Houston's Zac Etheridge for DB coach

Per CBS Sports, Miami is targeting Houston's Zac Etheridge for its DB coach position.

In 2024, Houston ranked 22nd nationally in passing yards allowed against FBS opponents. Houston's 2,266 passing yards allowed were its fewest in a full season in 30 years. Just yesterday, Etheridge had been promoted to defensive pass game coordinator for the Cougars.

Etheridge was previously a finalist for the Louisiana-Monroe head coaching job. At Auburn, he coached three players this year who earned Senior Bowl invites and as well as 2022 second-round pick Roger McCreary.

Etheridge is a Troy, Alabama native who was a team captain on Auburn’s 2010 national championship team. He spent three seasons (2021-23) as the Tigers' Secondary Coach. In February 2022, he was promoted to Associate Head Coach. He also spent time at Louisiana (CB coach) and Western Carolina (CB/OLB coach).

Shouldn't be hard to figure out, he had some things that bothered him last year too. Just a matter of time. And some folks mentioned his name a few weeks ago, so when this drops, it will make sense.

With junior day coming, I was very much hoping we'd start dropping staff news this week and keep it going into the weekend to drum up some excitement and remain in the news cycle. This is a great start.

He’s clapping Willy Fritz (Houston HC) daughter cheeks. That’s probably why he sent to Houston after getting out of Auburn instead of going to a big program

He'll field a good, disciplined unit. They won't put up eye popping INT numbers, but they'll get them when they're there.

Just curious is this is referencing someone incoming or outgoing?

If outgoing, does it rhyme with mason sailor? Ha
