DE Herbert Scroggins III signs with the Canes

The Canes landed one of the top targets on their defensive board with the signing of DE Herbert Scroggins III. From the beginning of the cycle, Miami has prioritized the 6’3, 235-pound Savannah native as an impact stand-up rusher.

A product of Benedictine Military School, Scroggins is a high academic (3.8 GPA), athletic (leading rebounder on his basketball team) who leads the state of Georgia in sacks with 21. For his career, Scroggins has an incredible 43.5 sacks to go along with 266 tackles and 43.5 TFL.

Scroggins chose Miami over Auburn.

I've had the pleasure of coaching against this kid. We played them his junior year. He will wreck your Friday night. Luckily for us, we spent the better part of the night running the ball away from him.
