DB Jaden Harris enters the Portal

The makeover of Miami's secondary continues, as starting safety Jaden Harris will be entering the transfer portal.

The 6', 195-pound redshirt sophomore from Atlanta had a rough season for Miami, grading at 56.6 on PFF with 15 missed tackles (25.9%) and a 57.2 coverage grade. Harris was originally recruited to Miami by Manny Diaz and Travaris Robinson as a CB, but switched to safety upon Defensive Coordinator Lance Guidry's arrival.

Both Harris and Guidry will be looking for new homes after their struggles in 2024.

For his career, Harris has made 47 tackles with 5 TFLs, 1.5 sacks and 1 INT. He was ACC Defensive Back of the Week after his performance against Florida

He did… but he OV’d before Mario came so that initial offer came under Manny. He might kick the tires on him. Best of luck to him either way.

Which takes me back to a question I asked earlier today. What does it mean when insiders are saying the evaluation group is changing? Does it mean Dennis is moving on or something?

I try not to talk down on the players so I’m gon just keep it PLAYA! When I was sittin in the endzone at GT & I saw his effort on that 1st TD when Gangsta hit ‘em wit da move (BIG PAUSE) & the the effort he gave instead of really trying to make an effort & tackle dude & I had to let go & let God deal wit it (BIG PAUSE)

The Zona kid is 100% being brought in to be developed. Don’t think he is top 4 in rotation this year, that’s with our without Damari.

I believe staff thinks he will eventually be good, where as Harris is going into year 4 and they realize he will never be good. Sucks for the kid, seems like a great young man.

Seems like an upbeat, energetic kid. Can’t wait to never see the back of his jersey again but can’t hate somebody for doing their best. Not his fault.

Wasn’t highly ranked.
I liked his measurables when he signed.
Thought he could be a decent player here with some development.

I was way off.
Good luck to the kid but this is plus for the program. He should not be playing here.
