Story I saw said he would miss the entire 24 season and quite possible 2025 season as well

Doesn’t make any sense. Blatant disregard for the rules that’s like any extra game. Probably cost him his job
On X they kept calling it an "illegal early scrimmage"

That may be strong, but clearly not part of standard fall

hope the kid heals up well and don,t rush trying to come back dammit man

We really gotta be careful how we handle this now. I don't know the plan but really hope when everyone starts pulling his offers now that we still keep him on. Dropping him would have a lot of blowback.
I agree. I feel bad for the kid. Everybody is put in a bad spot on this situation. You gotta still take him and pray he has a great recovery. He’s coming from your great pipeline in your city, you gotta protect your relationships

Doubt we drop him. We're aware of the repercussions, plus, the kid is too talented to afford that.

He'll heal up and we'll make it work.
Compound fractures (I'm hoping for a great recovery for him no matter what the extent)are not some easy process. It's a long LONG road. A guarantee (if it is a compound fracture)he's got at least two years ahead of him till we can count on him in any capacity. Add to that no way in **** he's gonna have his nil in place that was agreed to. I'm interested to see how this plays out.

Agreed, best hope now is that his fracture doesn't attract any infections pre- or post-surgery. But medicine has come a long way, avg. recovery is about 15 months.

However, Miami Central is going to be in some rough water now. Talk about ruining your schools reputation with stupid **** like that. I hope that kid has a decent lawyer at hand.

Well..now we see why Bryce Fitzgerald is invited to the BBQ? This sucks. Feel bad for the kid. Hope this isn’t another Randy Russell type situation. Where the kid never fully recovers. Prayers to a speedy recovery.

The NIL piece of this is interesting. Even with a scholarship limit I would expect UM to honor his scholarship for the reasons everyone cited, but also because it is good PR to make sure everyone knows UM stands by its commits when this type of thing happens.

But NIL is different as there must be a limited NIL budget and like any athlete, an injury impacts earning potential until the athlete overcomes the injury. I would like to think that keeping his scholarship in place is what Wallace and his family are realistically hoping for.
