There is confusion on this issue. NCAA Bylaws remain in effect for having 10 countable, "on-field" coaches, 11 including the HC. These coaches are the only ones allowed to recruit off campus. The bylaw that did change was allowing non-countable "off-field" staff and advisors to provide "technical and tactical instruction" to athletes during practice and games......so in essence there are no limits besides football operations budgets and HC preference. Therefore you could and should have a "full-time" special teams coach but you would not want this to be one of the 11 countable roles since you would not like an ST coach who is also responsible for off-campus recruiting.

DL , is pure BEAST great news he’ll fir sure will get these kids motivated or else , hopefully Jason Taylor will follow DL LEAD I HOPE?????

Actually what you just described was JT game to a tee. He was absolutely a pass rushing machine. But he dropped in coverage regularly. That's possibly what made him so dangerous and why he got so many picks...
@Brooklyndee, are you able to speak on the amount of involvement JT had with DLine calls/assignments within Guidry's scheme? I just have to know who was calling those stunts so often and predictably in the latter half of the season. **** was beyond infuriating. Hopefully it was Guidry a majority of the time, but to your point in the quoted message, I worry that a lot of the dline games we were seeing were because of how effective HE was with them as a player. Hopefully I'm wrong about all of this.

I am a parent and would not appreciate foul mouth Damion Lewis cursing his brains out to make his point. Verbally he seems like an extremely limited person. He was a great player for UM.
As a parent of a grown man! he in college, I'm sure he heard worse from you and your wife at home? You must be joking right?

Sheesh…f*** that, by the time DL takes over they are over 18 and adults, but respects to you for parenting your kids under 18.

Nah. That troll **** gets no respect for pretending to clutch his pearls at the theoretical slight at his nonexistent children.

Personally, I don’t trust people who don’t cuss. You don’t have to be Andrew Dice Clay but there are times in life where cussing is warranted, even from the most articulate among us. If you stub your toe in front of me and then holler “Gee Willickers!!!”, I’m looking at you with the side-eye from then on…
It serves a purpose. If I'm cussing, look out world.

Brother I'm not gonna beat this dead horse. We moved on to another DC so let's just let it play out. If you're really curious about my answer I'll just say I addressed this multiple times and it seems people don't grasp my explanation. I will ask you a simple question though. If you remember JT game and what his strengths were. What made him stand out? Did it not look AWFULLY similar to what we ran regularly last season? You choose who to put that on.

Wrong and/or misleading and/or confusing again.

You say that you can only have 10 countable "on-field" coaches, and then you flip to "technical and tactical instruction" by "off-field" coaches, which is insane on its face. What do these "off-field" coaches do, scream really loud? Just be honest, they are ON FIELD.

The RECRUITING limitation on numbers remains in effect. On that, everyone can agree.

The ON-FIELD impact is unlimited. Stop trying to confuse people.

There are no longer any limitations for ON-FIELD COACHING. No matter what terms you try to apply. That's just a fact.

He doesn't teach that anymore but I won't argue with you considering you def. know more than me on this.

I’m not going to pretend to be all up to date on the best DT coaches in college football so I’ll be happy we hired Lewis until he proves otherwise.

What I’m really interested in asking is why do people think Hetherman would be bringing “his guys” with him? It’s not common for a DC hire to take a bunch of guys from his previous job to his new one. Especially when the guys from his previous job have no prior connection to him. It’s not like he brought anyone to Minnesota.

Here we go with this logic **** again in the deep south... Cuidad

Yeah should Just call it what it is, there is a limit to 10 traveling Recruiters. That is it. Basically Who do you want to be performing the in home or school/game visits. That's really all the limitations are even on.

Great hire! In my opinion, this is a good former Cane hire. I laugh at Sapp being a coach and didn't want Hurtt as our DC. Atleast Clint is deserving of consideration. I was starting to think this wasn't happening. After last season, I am eyeballing JT so I am glad to welcome Lewis back to the U. Go Canes!
JT was a disappointment in coaching up his flock especially Bain JT and Bain total collapse last year
