She knows that if this ruins another recruiting class, that Golden may very well leave.

At least I think he would.

"So why must schools then wait two to four months before the NCAA informs them of their penalty?

Potuto said infraction committee members want to see what they discussed “in writing and then rethink it. It’s the writing that takes the time. It might take two or three drafts.

“Until the report is written and signed off by everyone [working the case on the infractions committee], it’s not the decision of the committee.” Once the infractions committee signs off,” then the NCAA gets it “formatted and published.”

So if UM goes before infractions in June, it likely would get its penalty sometime between August and October. If it appeals, the process could stretch for another six months beyond that.

“It seems president Shalala will be unhappy even if there is a settlement [of very little additional punishment] because of what happened in the process,” Potuto said. “I can understand her being unhappy with the time it took to get the case ready to go. I don’t think there’s any real good answer that’s going to satisfy all the parties.”

October? Yea Donna best not let that happen

Utter bull**** for an October timeline

Btw for us Bilas lovers

ESPN’s Jay Bilas, a vocal critic of the NCAA, said by phone Wednesday that one problem is “the NCAA has no standard of proof, and the committee on infractions can believe whatever it wants and can believe whatever bad evidence it chooses.

“That’s no way to conduct a system of justice. It’s absurd. I believe there should be a serious negotiation undertaken to resolve this, and that the matter should be settled as you would in a civil case.”

That's what I'm most afraid of.

The NCAA can put the burden of proof on Miami to prove that these things didn't happen instead of the NCAA proving that they actually did happen.

Carrying into October would have an affect on another recruiting class for more bull**** negative recruiting. Pedo state was a special case for expedition I don't see why Miami's case isn't with the NCAA's LOIC on their own part

None of it matters at this point. This whole COI stage is nothing but a sham and a formality. The ncaa eviscerated and castrated itself on this case, and there's no way in **** that they'll run the rest of this process. President Shalala's driving the bus now because she holds all the cards. She told them what it will take for them to avoid further embarrassment and humiliation--no further sanctions. It's now up to the COI to rubber stamp Don Shalala's edict or get dragged through the mud like a cave girl *****.

I am completely at ease because the ncaa's blatantly and pervasively corrupt and illegal actions in this case will get their case tossed out in its entirety and cost them some money to boot should this matter to the next step.

Agree 100%

how incompetent can you possibly be that it takes two to four months to type a report of a decision you made "after dinner". Everything this organization does is a joke.

"With UM cooperating fully with the NCAA and the NCAA still handing down severe allegations against UM"

The NCAA hasn't handed down anything yet. The punishment still has to be determined and the committee who handles that could decide that the report is off base and/or we have already served enough. Now if that committee hammers us, then yes, your argument makes sense.

This entire process in unreasonably long.

Murder trials take less time.

This is more important so it should take longer! This effects millions of fans and alum. When someone dies 10 people at best really give a chit

Lol @ dragged thru the mud like a cave girl *****. Repped.

i've been on this paranoid kick for a while that the $EC has been behind this or its boosters. Simply: when USC or UM have their isht together they are juggernauts because they sit in these incredible talent pools more than even Alabama or LSU sit in. So what better way to pave the way to constant NCAA titles then to eliminate your competition which is to use the NCAA to get USC and Miami out of the way. NCAA has got to be influenced by $EC people or else they'd have crucified half that conference by now.

So yes, I think there's a monster story here but one as to the WHY of this witch hunt.

As was said in the Godfather so to speak: "Our true enemy has not revealed himself yet."

paranoid rant done

I've thought about this too. Who stands to gain the most from taking us out of the picture so to speak in talent rich south florida???

It doesn't matter. NCAA is simply trying to act like they're still in charge and that they hold the cards in order to save face. There's been a complete shift in power here due to the NCAA's pervasively corrupt and illegal fake investigation. Not only did they break their own rules, but they also broke the law. They paid a convicted liar to be their star witness, paid his attorney to perpetrate a fraud on the federal bankruptcy court and extorted former players.

And those are only the things we know about. As I've been aksing for the past couple days: How did Pig ***** Perez rack up $57K in attorney's fees representing the ncaa when all the ncaa is investigating relative to her is a 4 hour deposition? What did she do in the other 200 hours that she billed to them?

Buttsecks?

Btw., the best part of the whole mess is the NCAA putting money directly into Shapiro's commissary account. That is priceless.

Who was their clarence beeks?
