I think that once a kid visits, especially with one or both parents, we have a very legitimate shot at landing him. We have an extremely attractive package of atmosphere, academics, and coaching.

So does ND.

I would rather take this kid and his solid commitment , then flirt around with xavier williams for 6 months

Their program isn't ascending like ours. They just had what? A 3.. 4 win season? And yea they beat us, whatever. Won't happen this season.

He has already visited with his parents.

My comment was based on and building upon that fact. To be clear, I was saying that now that he has visited with his mother, I think we have a very legitimate shot with him regardless of any previous leanings. When I was choosing a college, I was leaning toward one school until my visit to another school (with my mother) played a role in causing me to change my mind. I wound up attending that second school. So, at least in my case, that actually happened.

Austin is an explosive football player; plain and simple. Williams looks best at DB on his film. Hope we get Austin's commitment.

At this point I'm not the biggest fan of Austin, unless he truly shows out, no way he takes the big receiver role from Hightower or Wiggins. Give me X or Elijah, simply because it'd be better to diversify the types of receivers we load up on. But thats just my 2 cents

Austin > Moore

Completely different WR's IMO.

Moore can do things Austin can't and vice versa.

They're supposed to be on the same team though. Imagine that. Unstoppable.

They are completely different but with only one more spot left I would want Austin. Both are great players

He just brought his mother with him on a visit and was impressed w/academics....cane?

He's supposedly been a ND lean for awhile

Been a Notre Dame lean because we haven't offered yet unless he just got an offer in the last couple days.

Pete said he holds an offer

If he can't commit then he doesn't hold an offer. Pretty sure we're not taking whoever commits first for the last WR spot.

Who said he cant commit? Seems like the issue with this kid was his interest level. Staff putting in time to address that.

There's a long way to NSD. And priorities will change over time. But all indications would seem to be Austin is a kid who top programs will continue to recruit, and who could easily turn out to be as good as or better than some kids currently committed here and elsewhere at the WR spot.

Pete, He says academics first, eaely playing time second. Our committed three are thoroughbreads, three good ones coming in this year plus the higher expectations for Mullins and Cager coming off bench, we're more or less set with our ones. In the end most of these kids really want to play football, win championships and go to the league period. If he's serious about what he says Duke looks like a good option. I see Pope as the only one that plays early. Am I wrong?
