‘26 QB Dereon Coleman commits to Miami

Miami has its QB of the future. 2026 blue-chip QB Dereon Coleman of Jones High School (Orlando) announced that he will be a Cane.

The 6’1, 165 gunslinger is no stranger to competition, as he beat out Elite 11 senior QB Trever Jackson as a sophomore and outshining multiple highly-regarded quarterbacks at Miami’s recent camp.

Coleman completed 63% of his passes for 2,236 yards, 16 TDs and 6 INTs as a sophomore. He also added 4 TDs on the ground.

He is Miami’s third commitment of the ‘26 class, joining WR Malachi Toney and LB Jordan Campbell.

Nah its cool, I am not going to argue with you about the height of a high school kid that I have talked to and stood next to. Whatever you feel he is, then that is fine.
Notice I didn't say how tall I thought he was, I just said he was a little taller than me and I am 5'10".
Honestly, a couple inches mean nothing if you can ball out. If he sticks with his commitment, then he will have a chance to play for us and if he can't play then we recruit someone else or hit the portal. It's not worth arguing over. The situation will play itself out soon enough. I just want us to win the ACC next year and play in the playoff. His height won't have anything to do with that.

So what you think we are getting 2 QBs? Qbs don't often get dropped, so I'd be surprised if we moved on from Coleman. Though I guess if Dawson leaves after this season things could change quickly. But then who knows if Henderson would still be felling us like that.

Not that I think 2 QBs doesn't make sense. Emory probably doesn't return especially if he loses the #2 QB job to Nickel this year. We do need 2 Qbs, cause if Nickel did win the job next season even Judd could possibly leave tbh...

I think they’ll just take Coleman at the end of the day but they are still recruiting other guys. Take that how you want
