Transfer C Lynn Kidd signs with Miami

Don’t really see a downside to this addition. He was one of VT’s best two on the floor when me and the 9 year old went to the game in Blacksburg, 8-8 on the night. Much less impactful in Miami, inefficient and nondescript. Feel like I’ve seen the best and worst of him, if the floor is raised and he’s able to pull down just a few more rebounds a game, he’s part of a good core.

Clearly your screams at L sealed the deal. He heard you, and said I want that.

He didn't do much his first 3 years at VT. He exploded last year. I expect big (no pun intended) things from him next year.

I probably say "I hope I am wrong" too much here, but the enthusiasm might be tempered a bit by some review suggesting this is a bit of an underwhelming pickup perhaps. Confirmed by some other CIS, the VT reaction earlier this week had a fair amount of commentary such as:

So, I am doubtful he will be a "super" starter. Surely better than Casey, and perhaps what Nwoko didn't do (yet) so I am optimistic and welcome him, just not doing cartwheels here.

(So agree no real downside, but we still need a lot lot more from the portal and hopefully have the NIL remaining to achieve that.)

If he is paired with Omier, it helps both of them become better at what they do best
I can’t disagree with this more. The paint will be clogged, which will make life more difficult for the both of them. Omier is effective playing in a 5 out system because it helps alleviate his size disadvantage by not crowding his space even more.

I’ve posted enough about this guy in the past 24 hours so I’ll stop being a broken record, but I’m just not excited about this one at all.

So he averaged 13 points and 6.5 rebounds in 23 minutes a game in the ACC and that's not good?
