Zion turner, Qb of sta

I don't know. Our high school QB's seem to be doing a great job at the college level. QB's down here are running spread concepts as early as optimist ball. I think the INDIVIDUAL QB coaching down here is a little lackluster however.

It's hard to duplicate the REPS that our kids get though. They're throwing all year around. The high school season just ended and all of the 7-on-7 stuff is already in full swing. Our skill kids play all year around, and I think that's part of the reason that we're seeing Florida produce more QB's.
Good point about 7 on 7.....but that is good and bad for QBs. They get really lazy with their drops, some of the 7v7 coaches tell their QBs not to move their feet!

I don't think it's a Florida thing. There's plenty of schools in south Florida running air raid type systems. It's just that STA is like Alabama prior to Tua. They have so much talent all over the field they don't fell like they need to open up the passing game that much. Despite being one of the nation's top programs, they run a very vanilla offense.
Cardinal Gibbons is an Air Raid school.....they produced Nik Scalzo, that’s it! Booker T runs a nice passing scheme on offense.......but if you look at passing attempts of the top kids in Tx, Ga and Cali, they have a lot more kids with more passing attempts every year!

Almost every high school in Dade and Broward run spread offenses. Some teams throw a lot some teams run a lot. There’s a ton of FBS caliber running backs here and it would be stupid for a coach to throw the ball 50 times a game with a Dalvin Cook or Duke Johnson in the backfield

CG swiss cheesed my school with that air raid this year.

Booker T been running it for over a decade with ICE. Still remember the fans at MNW being mad az sh*tw ith Ice when he was tryna run the spread with his son back in the day....only to have **** near the whole county run it now.

I'll tell you what like macho has stated....the air raid/spread concepts has trickled down to our Optomist levels.

For example a ninth grader started at Mnw (seldom happens) at qb that was at my optomist program 3 years back, and he was slinging the ball around then in optomist. Carol City started a 9th grader as well..who can throw the ball.
Those 2 kids ive seen running 7 on 7's the last 3 years and doing things that alot of hs srs wasnt doing and thats when they were like 13 years old.

The crazy part though is i STILL dont think we have legit qb coaches to the levels of ga,ca. But we have some guys that do individual qb coaching down here...that played college and pro ball. Its turning up a bit.

Our kids at QB have been looking really good in college going back over a decade now. Some folks are just catching on to it though.

I think the state had 9 qbs on active rosters this nfl season with some more coming down the pike and some practice squad guys,

THIS!!! And you add in the fact that most of these QB's here can move like Punt Returners, so what you get are coaches that rarely want to throw it.

good athletic ability, seems to throw a nice ball. that release is a bit eh, but its fixable. his ball position before the throw is good, has lively feet and shows willingness to stand in the pocket and take a shot after the throw.

Some nice zip and ball placement for sophomore tape. He’s listed at 6’0 right now? Cuz that tape looks like 5’10 to me
