Zach Carpenter is not hurt

such an odd game on how to rate our OL. On one hand they gave up 4 sacks but in the other they rushed for over 200 yds. One of those games where its the good and the bad
Run blocking vs. pass blocking are 2 different animals. Some lines can only do one well and suck at the other (i.e. Dolphins awesome pass blockers, doo doo as run blockers in the late '80's and early '90's). Usually the Canes OL do both well, last night C grade overall - A for run blocking and F for pass blocking.

I'm sure the Canes will correct it.

We’ve hit gold on back to back portal centers. I wonder if they’ll try to portal again next year or go with Rodriguez or maybe Nino.
Think we hit the portal for some linemen pretty heavy. The line is solid and we have some good young talent but there’s no way our coaches are satisfied imo

That said I think Nino and Tinilau have bright futures

Replacing Matt Lee was not easy-

I thought he excelled tonight-

He played his best game as a Cane.
His run blocking was on point last night and opened up a lot of big holes. Definitely his best game run blocking as a hurricane.

He is definitely a better run blocker. If he gets his hands on you, he is good. In space, not so much. He is why the splits were tightened. If you get a step on him, he is toast. He can't recover. He is definitely a drop off from Lee, but that isn't a surprise. None of that makes him a bad player. He was much needed and a big positive from the portal for us.

He played okay… we ran the ball the best last night mostly because the noles were pinning their ears back stat hunting for sacks.

And we have SJ coming in next year.

D$ talked about him on his podcast a week or so ago

I know he’s gotten a lot of hype already here but apparently he’s been better than advertised. The comments about him are very similar to Mauigoa at this time of his recruitment

Lol maybe you should keep your mouth shut if you don’t know who you would put in front of Carpenter in the conference
You should watch yours and watch the games. Carpenter had been average at best at that’s a fact. That dude is no where near all acc. A solid starter that’s it. The center from bc has been better so he probably will get it it

What do you think of PFF? I have mixed feelings. I don’t really understand how they pump out grades so quickly but whatever

This isn’t a set up question. You’re making some definitive statements about Carpenter just wondering where it’s coming from. He’s been pretty good to me but I know **** all about playing OL

A 70.1 isn’t great. I said he is a solid starter but not 1st team all acc and I don’t think I’m wrong on that. As far as pff I’m mixed as well. I don’t know there formula or how they grade

Lol alright buddy. You were probably one of those idiots who ripped on Lee and Carpenter before they ever played a snap at Miami.
