True freshmen are going to have both good and bad days. Consistency will come with experience. UCLA's true frosh are going to make mistakes. That was ONLY one game.

I'm sure our guys, young but with talent, are going to have there share of good/bad things happen. Some of our gr8test players ever here made some big mistakes when they were playing early.

Just FYI, UCLA's starting defense is full of Senior's and Juniors. Their two deep has a lot of freshman, but their starting D is upperclassmen. Their offense is another animal. Very young (5 starting true freshmen) and pretty good. What I think Mora is doing well is scheming to his personnel. He didnt come in and run some Air Raid type of offense. He knew they needed to pound the rock and that is what they are doing.

Its also a new offense. Its not uncommon for a new offense to thrive early on. We saw how well we did with a new offense to start the 2009 season. Lets wait until they prove it over a longer period of time before we have these knee jerk post.

They also changed from a 4-3 to 3-4 from the spring to now.

We can be as aggressive as you want, we're still going to suck on D until we have legitimate D1A talent as backups in the front 7. I'm in favor of telling Cornelius and Gaines to run as fast as they can towards the backfield, neither can do anything else right. But that isn't going to lead to more wins, the DL will still struggle to get off blocks and the young DB will still lose their coverage. But I do agree that anything is better than what we're doing now.
