Beamer has a real problem on his hands. Mike London is a problem for him in the Commonwealth and Golden is making it difficult for him in South Florida.

Coach Barrow told him their is three scenarios....

#1 if avery young commits, then he has to see if someone doent qualify.
#2. If avery doesnt commit, then he has a scholarship.
#3. If avery commits and everyone qualifies, he will greyshirt.

He is fine with all the options even waiting until next jan. to enroll.

We own the Canes....Golden will not change that. You are not the SEC and over-recruiting will only get you a bunch of transfers.

How does this kid compare to a guy like Burgess? Seems like people are saying he "replaced" Northrup but to me he seems like less like a MLB and more like a Weakside backer. Blue isn't huge but looks like he has some decent lateral speed. Maybe a Cookie-lite?

I think northrup was a little more "year 1-ready" for college football, but by year two, I think Blue & Northrup are a wash.

If Jawand Blue did not commit to Va Tech so early (Last July, before 2-a-days of his senior season started) he would have gotten a lot more attention from the online recruitniks IMO.

Well it is kind of a **** move. the kid has been commited to Va Tech since last July. The kid took no other visits.

Then on NLoI day, he waited until two other UM recruits signed elsewhere then flipped to UM. WOW!!

Credit Al Golden. Dude can sell ice to an eskimo in late December.

If he knew all along where he was going and just waited until today to announce it, I would agree that it was a **** move. But considering the fact that he wasn't provided with an offer until today, you can't really blame the kid for accepting an opportunity that he had been waiting on and believes is in his best interest. To Beamer, it's one recruit. To this kid, it's the next 3-5 years and the diploma he'll carry for the rest of his life.

OMG LOL.....

Matt Porter @mattyports Close
I'm listening in right now as Frank Beamer is telling Ja Wand Blue, "you lied to me." #VaTech #Canes

Matt Porter @mattyports Close
Blue is telling Frank Beamer, "I wanted to stay home." Beamer: "This doesn't make any sense. I've never felt more betrayed or lied to."

Matt Porter @mattyports Close
Beamer, to Blue: "You want to go to a program that wins bowl games, a clean program, that dominates in the ACC?"

Matt Porter @mattyports Close
Beamer: "It would be a blessing for you to go away for school. I promise. You've got homeboys here. ... We need you. We're counting on you."

Matt Porter @mattyports Close
Ja Wand Blue is listening to Beamer speak his piece. This is incredibly awkward.

WOW LMAO

Wow! This kid must really, really have high potential. I know how Beamer recruits and his eye for overlooked talent.

Also, I trust Sigmar's evaluation as a guy who played the game.

Beamer wanted Blue badly.

Not sure if I believe this. I dont think this kid would have passed up a shot to play at VT to possibly grey shirt here.

I disagree with you on this. It was obvious he was wavering. He didn't punk them at the last minute. Anyone who was paying attention has known for a while that he'd take a UM offer if given one. Beamer's no fool.

There's a quote by him that says as much.

"There are three different scenarios coach Barrow told me," Blue said. "It depends what Avery Young does. If he commits I have to wait on someboy that doesn't qualify; they have someone that's shaky right now. If Avery Young doesn't commit then I get that scholarship. And the third option is grayshirt. That's okay with me."

+1

Dude obviously wants to play for UM. As soon as that became an option, he made it clear he'd wait and see.

So who's shaky? AJL?

Dude wants to be here bad. He would even greyshirt.

We need guys that want to be here
