In. Hate this. However, there is some fine tail that attended (Ohio), the "you went to Miami" convo starter has helped me slam a few.
 
Live in LA now and have gotten that just a few times.

I always laugh. "No, the real one. In Florida." How untraveled they must be.

They feel silly, and I get to be an *******. I don't mind it.
 
Miami of Ohio is one of the biggest ****holes I have ever had the displeasure of stepping foot in. Place makes Gainesville look like NYC.

My sister in law went there, and as a joke got me a shirt that said, "Miami was a University when Florida belonged to Spain" or some crap like that. I threw it out.
 
I get this alot. I can't understand why people would immediately jump to the lesser known, ****tier of the two, Miamis.

one year I heard a Russian girl came in for orientation.

she had an acceptance letter from Miami University not University of Miami.

****!!! I'm from Ohio and I love the U.. My uncle used to play for University of Cincinnati and they played the "U" I used to laugh at my uncle after the game telling him they just got destroyed by my favorite team.. That's how I because a Hurricane fan in the 80"s.. Now I'm trying to direct my son there, he plays for Moeller up here and pretty good as a freshman.

Not from, but live in Ohio because of my job...Agree on the meal choice!

Work with Miami U graduate who goes way back with his school. Cool guy, not a douche like the way most Sucknuts act. Their issue, like most of the other D1's up here, is nobody goes to their games, they sit home and watch O$Uck. Miami U changed their team names from Redskins to Redhawks and alot of alumni don't identify with it. His favorite shirt is one which says "REDSKINS, Oxford Ohio"
