You guys see Gunter playing safety last couple of drives?

Btw, I don't think anybody is saying put Gunter at safety permanently, just situational. Next year is another conversation.

I mentioned earlier in the year I see Gunter at S next year.

I think Howard is making a case for being the best corner on the team right now.

He does not appear to be 100% yet. When he bit on that 4th down play that went for a TD, you could see that, even when he was late recognizing Campanaro was free, he could not change direction fast enough to impact the play.

I'd feel a lot better about our safety situation next season if Gunter is moved back there.

Safety recruiting this year has looked terrible and we'll only have three scholarship safeties on the roster after this season.
 
I'd rather Miami keep Gunter at corner and move Artie to safety..... he's young enough to be able to add depth their instead of trying to fill another whole once Gunter is gone after next year.
 
Gunter probably played safety because they didn't play Rodgers any because of his ankle. We'll see with another week if Gunter gets as much time there if Rodgers is ready to go.
 
Is Rodgers hurt? He was at least serviceable for the most part this year.

Highsmith, conversely, is a massive liability. If he plays, he will get exposed big-time against FSU's receivers.

^^^This. If Rodgers was healthy, Gunter would not have played safety. Next year, Carter will be another year older and Gunter will back up if necessary. Artie will be lock down next year with Howard and Gunter with Crawford defending the slot.
