You guys should go through amazon. No due diligence when choosing this hosting company to make sure redundant backbone connections are in place? Sorry had to ask.
When we leased the server from them around a year and a half ago our server was located at the SoftLayer datacenter in Dallas, TX. They moved their servers out of that datacenter and into the Provos Utah datacenter about 300 days ago and without telling their customers. They clearly do not have a good setup at their current location. When we originally choose them we did so because a lot of other very large forums use them as a host. They host over 9 million domains so they aren't some small wanna be host. With the exception of the 3 incidents we have had a good experience with them. This next go around I plan on leasing a server directly from SoftLayer. A lot of users like to question your host but never offer up any real solution other than go through amazon which is insanely expensive and doesn't work very well for our forum.
Amazon sounds expensive. I will donate to your save the server fund if you bring back the WEZ.
