Depends what you mean by Contributors. If it is start or earn heavy starting rotational snaps, probably only Wiley, Pringle, and maybe a WR. DB should not simply from the fact we should get like 5 Portal DBs asap. If it is just getting some amount of snaps in most games:
- Wiley has opportunity to have the biggest immediate impact here. Could earn the starting role immediately and it'd be the least surprising thing. The Size/athleticism/toughness is all there. The only question is if the mental is there with him. We've seen such garbage LB intelligence the last 2 seasons especially with allignment that I really hope he's got his understanding of the game down. I really do NOT think we should hit the portal for a LB again. Between Popo, Pruitt, Wiley, Bobby, Haye AND Wes and Alderman still as floor depth guys who have been starting for us all season already, that would be dumb imo.
- Pringle could absolutely play immediately, But I doubt he'll get as many snaps as Lyle had this year. I think RB we should always be getting a guy capable of playing immediately in case of injuries. We should be confident they can get 8 carries/game. If not what the **** is the point of recruiting that particular player? RB is not a developmental position. With Martinez going pro, and Ajay Allen probably leaving, there are some snaps to be had. Lyle will replace Martinez' snaps, leaving Lyles+Allens snap count open.
- Obviously we have literally all but OJ's job at our 5 main DB positions fully open for the taking. Wallace has no shot this year due to injury. If Antione is healthy he is probably the best guy to bet on at getting a CB job. I think Fitgerald if he actually starts out at CB like he should could get a lot of PT. But ultimately if we don't literally go and get like 5 Portal DBs I'm going to be ******* pulling my hair out. I don't expect any of these Frosh DBs to really contribute unless due to injury.
- WR there will be opportunity for a WR to earn Full starting snaps. Full fresh start at WR. Only guarantee is Horton is a starter. I'd expect Trader to be a full starter and to get a WR1 in portal. But even if those 3 happen we still have quite a bit of snaps to be had. Best bet is probably Moore. But honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Upshaw or Toney won some meaningful Slot snaps. I don't think Ray ray has been good at all... So in general I'd be surprised if we don't get contribution out of one of the frosh WRs this year. But nothing crazy either...
- Schott looks legit and is going to be TE3 immediately, which means he'll get some solid snaps in. If you consider Lofton a contributor this year, Schott probably can be considered one too.
- OL I doubt any will start immediately, but would not at all be shocked if SJ or Buchanan (only 1) earned a rotational or even starting C/G job by the middle of the season. SJ Looks like he's our future starting Center. Whether that happens immediately or not we'll see.
- Lowe is probably an instant useful depth piece. I think we need 1 portal EDGE, just cause otherwise we are far too inexperienced and We have a lot of snaps opening up. But even though we have a lot of EDGE talent, a can see Lowe getting a handful or two snaps per game by the middle of the season.
