Xavier Restrepo tapped into Iron Arrow

I don’t see anyone selling Miami products replicating them as it is considered the highest honor at UM to be in Iron Arrow and that would almost be an insult others wearing them at Miami events. Kinda like selling Hof jackets to a smaller level of course.
They will be on the field Saturday at the game being honored as they are each year.
There is this thing called “The google machine” type in Seminole tribe jacket for sale. That will be $500.

a few questions and comments.

why wasn't his family there?
nice to see Hudak escorting him.
is that Rosier putting on the jacket on him?

what do native indians think about expropriating their rituals?
his family wasnt there because when they "tap" you, they do it on campus, with a group of other Iron Arrowers (in their sweaters) during the day and the new inductee has no idea he's been considered for induction, let alone picked.

Slightly off topic, but I wish someone would create / sell replica jackets like that.
Would 100% buy one.

They do.

At F$U. But they're all garnet and gold.

The UM Iron Arrow jackets are made by the tribe and have an arrow design on the collar tabs, that's how you can tell the difference.

Holy ****, Joe's jacket is DEFINITELY custom. I've never seen details incorporated like that. Amazing.

I thought you would have known this.

For students, they almost always do the tapping in a classroom setting, and faculty/admin in offices or classrooms.

Alums are the only ones that may have unusual settings. They try to get alums to Miami around Homecoming to tap them, but it's not always possible. One of my friends was tapped in Orlando.

As for the tribe, they have participated and endorsed the Iron Arrow traditions and ceremonies since the 1920s, long before F$U offered them a few bucks to use the Seminole name and likeness.

The initiation ceremony is on tribal lands (or at least that's how they did it from the 1920s to when you and I were at UM). This is not some cheap copycat routine.

i didn't know the protocol for getting tapped into IA. i'll be on the lookout, however, for the jackets when they approach my office after my next mega deal.
