Need a thread title change until he's actually in the portal
This post is the definition of “nailing it on the head”.I think two things are going to come out of this.
1. the NCAA \ Universities are going to get there *** handed to them in court again. They haven't won **** near any case they have had before them, so being stupid and thinking they will win in their previous slavery model won't stand in court yet again, and every time they try it screws up the model even more. At some point, reason should enter into these jackasses heads, but it seems to escape them every time.
2. Wisconsin just marked themselves as a place to avoid. Whether folks like it or not, these kids and their agents think different than fans. Who is going to want to go and get trapped there when others are not "fighting" the players like this. Doesn't seem logical, but again, see comments from #1 on the topic.
I think that optimism was based on Heitner being hired and not any actual intel from Wisconsin. Only because I doubt any Miami fans actually knows what Wisconsin's really thinking/planning.So what happened to this being wrapped up this week. Somebody lied
How is that even possible? So Wisconsin just denies this player his rights and there are no consequences? Looks like any school can just arbitrarily decide to hold a player hostage and there is nothing anyone can do about it. What a joke this sport has become.I believe the NCAA said it cannot compel Wisconsin to enter him into the portal.

I don’t know if what I said it accurate. Just a vague recollection of something I read at some point. There is a difference between the NCAA forcing a member institution to do something versus imposing a penalty when they violate a rule. Obviously the NCAA can do the latter. I’m not sure it has the authority to do the former. I just am not that familiar with this area. How is that even possible? So Wisconsin just denies this player his rights and there are no consequences? Looks like any school can just arbitrarily decide to hold a player hostage and there is nothing anyone can do about it. I think in part that was based on Heitner getting the NCAA involved and the thought that you know they would force a member school to follow their rules. I mean if the NCAA cannot force UW to follow the rule that he has to be entered in the portal within 48 hours of submitting his paperwork why would any school follow any of their rules. So what happened to this being wrapped up this week. If that’s the case..:if it’s all voluntary…Miami should grant Cam five years of additional eligibility. Ditto with X. And unilaterally expand their roster to 300 players.I think in part that was based on Heitner getting the NCAA involved and the thought that you know they would force a member school to follow their rules. And that's why the lawsuit talk now...I think in part that was based on Heitner getting the NCAA involved and the thought that you know they would force a member school to follow their rules. The thing is if they can't force guys to enter then other teams will think that strategy works. Then you'll see more teams block portal guys. Like imagine if he can't leave then for example a team like Miami sees that and blocks Horton and Jaden Harris from leavingI think in part that was based on Heitner getting the NCAA involved and the thought that you know they would force a member school to follow their rules. so punish yourself? The thing is if they can't force guys to enter then other teams will think that strategy works. Then you'll see more teams block portal guys. Like imagine if he can't leave then for example a team like Miami sees that and blocks Horton and Jaden Harris from leaving
Maybe not Harris but swap him for Ajay Allen. We could hold him hostage since Wisconsin can do it for exampleso punish yourself?
The obvious answer being the NCAA handing Wisconsin a penalty including Scholarship reduction for every day he is not entered into the portal, reducing their recruiting days/contact, reducing their practice time allowed, removing them from bowl game eligibility, giving show-causes, fining them, or all of the above.... Yeah let's go down this path and see how strong Wisconsin stands on their principles when they actually receive a punishment - which they already should be inline to receive no matter how this case is settled! So it could be that the NCAA informed Wisconsin that it was in violation of the rule and it should process the transfer request, Wisconsin disagreed and said go pound sand, and the NCAA shrugged and told XL there’s nothing more it can do beyond just penalizing Wisconsin after an investigation. Again, this is just me speculating without really knowing the full scope of the NCAAs enforcement authority.
I think they end up moving Lucas to safety. Was gonna ask who would be the better safety move Damari or Lucas?? Questions for anyone in the know havent seen Lucas and not much of Damari to know
You might be onto something with the title though.Agreed, noted, and done.
