Welcome to the U. When you are about to get hit with some scholie reductions, walkons are very helpful. Where did he go before UM?

Chick was never a pass rusher I dont understand y people bash the guy. He will always be a 5 to 8 sack guy, hes a motor guy and would be a great player if we had depth. I could see a Chick play at Bama under Saban and be a boss with less snaps on the field. Hes a rotation guy.

I'm not bashing him, he's one of my favorite players. I just think if we get hit with a bunch of scholly reductions, it'd be a pretty badass thing to do for the good of the team if he chose to walk on.

Is Chick's family loaded or something? Who in their right mind would give up $40K+ unless they have tons of money (and even then it would be questionable).
 
It's comical that people on here think guys like RLIII should walk-on "for the good of the team". Bet these are the guys that might make 2-3 games a year and have never given a dime to the school.

Agreed, that seems pretty stupid to me. Chick was forced to play from day 1, mostly opposite subpar talent on the other side of the line. Let's see how the next 2 years play out before people bash him.

Chick's going to be a true junior next year and in his first couple seasons has as many sacks as that LSU DE Montgomery had in his first couple seasons.
Clowney is a freak and I believe would have been a first round draft pick straight out of high school and if he could come out now would probably be the #1 pick.
There aren't many DE's and DT's in the past 30 years make huge impacts in their freshman and sophomore seasons, usually the production gets ramped up in their junior and senior seasons.
It's going to be interesting to see if Chick can get to that 10 sack and 20-25 TFL level this year with the improved talent on our front 7.
With his talent and work ethic those numbers are not pie in the sky.

Dude is Alonzo Highsmith part 2 and we don't have room to be giving schollies away when we need to be loading up with studs.
