WVU didnt seem very good. Was it our performance?

Every team we beat was obviously overrated. Not a single "real" win according to some of these clowns. WVU was the number 12 offense in college football and we shut them down. This despite the offense putting the defense in terrible spots through the first two quarters. Once the offense got started it was over. Could have easily put another 7 or 14 on the board but Richt showed that Jesus mercy. The Canes dominated a good WVU team. They were the highest ranked opponent playing an unranked opponent in all the bowl games and it wasn't even a contest.

I concur.

There should've been no Jesus mercy. Richt should've said sweep the leg after all that Mountainqueer trash talk. It was a great win at 31-14 and a great building block.

FWIW Holgerson said we were the best defense they saw all season.

Ifu see what wvu fans were saying in there forums was crazy. Some knew very few.....they said **** we don't see a front seven like this no where in the big12....also the game was more passionate n they don't have that in the big 12 either

He also made a comment to the effect that we wanted this win. I took it as a bit of a back handed compliment that they did not take this game as seriously. I recall some disappointment among their fan base that they ended up with an unranked opponent from a mediocre conference.

However, this year the caliber of teams representing the ACC in bowls are proving to be better than most thought.

Yeah. And the fact that WVU has a coach that should be Baker Acted

Utilizing the term "Baker Act" never gets old in my book. Especially true in Ol' Red Bull and Meth Holgy's case. Are you a danger to yourself or others, Dana?

Not sure why but I saw a lot of Big 12 football this year and was not impressed. We have our limitations but I think our defensive strength would have challenged for their conference title.

We earned this win and it was impressive. If we had played like we did in the last 3 quarters of that game...all season, then we would have won the Coastal and smashed Notre Shame.

If we can fix our O-Line, restock our secondary, and have more consistent play-calling/quarterback play, then this team will be very dangerous next year. No reason why we shouldn't improve upon our win total; next year, our non-conference schedule is weak and we get both Notre Shame and Vag Tech at home.

F$U will be tough on the road, but besides that, I don't see a single game that worries me. So, finish strong in recruiting, fix our glaring issues, and we might have a special season next year.

FSU is tough wherever we play them. Little appreciated is the fact that neither FSU or Miami has demonstrated a home field advantage in this series. UM has a winning record in Tally, FSU has a winning record in Miami. This really is one of those rivalry games where normal analysis gets wobbly.

They were a pretty good team. In the first half they had a good game plan and drove deep on us several times. The difference being those SEC officials actually called some holding plays that the ACC refs never give us. It changed the momentum of their drives and our stout D was able to hold up.

Great shot of that QB- tough little SOB- looked like the guy they sent down the mine shaft first with the canary- pointing to the plays on his wristband and Holgy turning away not even looking at the kid. He's still screaming....

Just goes to prove how important some rest and extra practice time are. The defense was seemingly rotating guys in and out all night with zero drop off, hats off to Diaz and the defensive staff. The offense got in rhythm and when that happens we can be very very tough to stop.

I read a interesting quote from a national writer yesterday that said, "It’s crazy to look too much into a bowl game, but this just felt like something special. This felt like the program gets it and is about to do really, really big things again."

Maybe that was this generations' Peach Bowl.

This was an impressive win against a legit team don't let anybody tell you otherwise. Maybe the BIG XII was a bit down this year but you don't win 10 games in a power 5 conference without having a good squad. The defense crushed one of college football's best offenses and once the offense got rolling in the second quarter, the blowout was on. Richt kept it conservative in the fourth quarter when he could have easily piled it on. A great five game winning streak to end the season with a bowl win against a top 15 team? I'll take it. I think the thing that made me most happy was you could see the effort from the Miami players. Chad Thomas and Kendrick Norton chasing a running back down ten yards past the line of scrimmage. Mark Walton and Stacy Coley blocking the **** out of the WV defensive backs all the way down field on Richard's long catch and run. Walton laying out dudes on kickoff coverage! Awesome team effort.

Holgerson was very classy in his post game speech. With that being said, I hope and believe that CMR knows deep down that if we want to get to the final 4, it is very imperative that he do everything he can to retain Diaz and Kool. It is their first year together and that appears to be a deadly combination.
