WR Shemar Kirk enters the Portal

I wish Kirk the best of the luck. He might actually be a good pickup for the next school.

It is interesting with all the WRs we lose and Kirk pretty much thinking he has no shot at playing time next year

we have talent with freshmen and incoming freshmen

I think The coaches have confidence in that young freshman group that got on the field (Carr and trader) they just didn’t get much targets but still they showed promise In practice

outside of getting branch who I think could make a difference, going to the portal and risking losing Carr, trader, Moore, or Toney would be a massive mistake

they've recruited well enough to play what we have. WR isn't a position that needs a wealth of experience

Not if the 2nd WR is a juco kid. A younger Kirk type. Just someone to throw in the room.
 
Kirk is what he is. He has the potential to have a good career at another low P4 / G5 school, but will never be a WR1/2 at a top P4 program. Good luck to him.

IMO, the only guys I am confident in are Daniels and Jojo. Lots of high ceiling kids in the room, but they're unproven. I'd feel a lot better if we got at least one more high level transfer out of the portal.

That bowl game made me feel a lot better about JoJo. I wish Horton had stayed and I would feel great about that current WR room.

I think So too, we need to get these guys in game experience. In terms of tools trader and carr are more gifted than the receivers we had on the field this year and will be exciting to see them with extended playing time

I wanted Ward to stick around for the 2nd half to get a better look at Carr. He was in the game but I didn't see anything. Didn't help when Emory played the whole 2nd half
 
As most always, I wish Kirk well. He should be the last until Spring. I don't see how we don't take 2 more WR's in the portal. I am feeling better about the DC hire and the portal. In saying that, we still need a lot more portal guys. I am over being rattled by Mario slow playing moves for now. We also need some more off field staff changes.
