WR Sam Brown: Everybody knows the vision right now

Yes, but they're 2 different styles of WR's.

Colbie is a tall big bodied Flanker/Z & SBrown is an X, but can also play Flanker as well.

SB has better hands, is faster & is a better overall route runner. More wiggle & his releases are a lot more crispy.

CY is better at the jump ball & has better balance with the ball in his hands after the catch, doesn't go down on first contact.

But from the CB's perspective, I can tell you the WR I would hate facing the most between the 2 would be SBrown. Young isn't difficult to slow down, he has the tendency to mentally check out of games when he's not getting the ball. So, if you're physical with him & get all in his chest place at the top of the route he'll stop running & say, "Man fck this.." & take the next few snaps off.

SBrown goes full throttle every snap & he doesn't telegraph his routes, he makes them all look the same. Which is frustrating to pick up on when you're dealing with a WR with his speed.

Per your other comment about CY checking out, I didn't trust Young to contest the jump balls last season in physical coverage. Personally, I'd rather have Brown because you never know which Colbie is going to show up.

Seriously, thanks for your in depth analysis and explanation 🙌🏿.

I want to see Brown win vertically. His exeleration is good but his long speed and top end doesn't show on tape. He could end up being a taller restrepo. Great route runner...good hands....good rac but nothing will be busted deep or for rac longer than 25-30 yds before being caught.

Given the nature of back injuries, it's a gamble.
It is but I don’t think it was like a Citizen level injury (knee). But the statement related in essence to the gator and Nole not adding a talented WR in the portal like UM and that’s not entirely true as it relates to the gator who I think added a good one too who I have ahead of Brown but I like Brown as well. I also think:

Cam + Brown >> Badger + Graham Schmutz

I’m just done with false narratives to make us feel better about ourselves. I’m curious to see who has a better season though Restrepo will take a lot of targets. Ultimately, the NFL draft will determine who’s better, all things being equal.

When you throw the entire portal package together and compare then yes...we got the better deal.

Like I said Cam Ward with Brown is better than Hraham Mertz with Badger. And the point was not who got a better deal anyhow. D$ said:

“FSU and UF couldn't pick up an athletic WR like Brown in the Portal.”

That’s not a fair conclusion as it relates to the gator picking up Badger.
