WR Gibson breaks down interest in top contenders Miami and UF

No but you have 4 guys on that list that 200 pounds or more...we currently don’t have a single WR that’s over 190 let alone 200 pounds. Then we wonder why we struggle when teams play Man coverage.
So is it about weight or height? The best WRs in college football are neither giants nor bullies and they don't win matchups because of weight. Waddle is a strong 180. This big need for a big WR doesn't make any sense. Specifically one of Gibson's quality. The draft doesn't tell you that height matters and offenses in college football say the same thing

Just to have options all WR’s had bigger WR around them also
But were they any good? Alabama started Waddle, Smith and Metchie. There are no bigger WRs to be found. Juedy and Ruggs, Ridley, Cooper. They haven't had good-great big WR since Julio. We'll see what some of their freshman got. Ohio State same thing. LSU had Marshall while Jefferson and Chase were 6' and 6'1" The only team you can point to is Clemson and they get better big WRs than Gibson.

If we had any WRs drafted from Miami that would be nice...... we underperform so bad at WR being located in a WR hot bed it is a joke. If you have good WRs do you need to have a bigger one? Not necessarily.

But we have not had them so gimme this 6'6 freak and see what happens, he may be Kelvin Benjamin or he may be Lawrence Cager, but either way we need all the help we can get.

/don't really matter, he ain't comin

Toney had Pitts and Grimes… We are not recruiting on Alabama level 💰💰so we are not getting those type of kids so it would be nice have some taller WR as an option

He ain't a freak. He's a tall a guy that can run. Matt Landers is a tall guy that can run. He signed with Georgia and then transferred to Toledo

OK fin......

Jayden Gibson, 2022 WR, West Orange (Fla.)

A headliner entering camp, which took part on his high school field, Gibson looked as comfortable as any prospect in attendance. The listed 6-foot-6 wideout made several acrobatic grabs in one-on-ones and against air, a skill that regularly shows up on Gibson's tape.

However, it was Gibson's work as a route-runner that impressed our eyes the most. No one quite expected Gibson to move so smoothly throughout his routes given his size, but he notably kept his feet underneath him with little wasted movement to break outside on a short, double-move route, catching a pass in-stride while several steps ahead of the cornerback he was facing.

Maybe Mullen is just a dummy but if he's as freakish as you say while being from Orlando he wouldn't be getting the "we'll call you later" from Florida like it seems. I like Horton better so if we gotta take a big WR thats the guy I want.
Oh he is fin, he is

I love Horton

You think Pitts and Grimes made Toney good in a short area? Or a guy who couldn't be checked in the slot? Nah. Thats all Toney.
Toney is the truth but they also fed off each other… we ain’t recruiting anybody like them in this class. So why not go with height and I also like Horton over Gibson

bingo. Find me a 200 pound muscle bound guy who isn’t terribly fluid and I’ll show you plenty 180-190 kids who can easily get off jam coverage. We just happen to have light weight WRs who are no good at getting off press. That’s a terrible combo

It’s both. You can’t play with tooth picks or you’ll get man handled. You guys love to think this **** is the 90’s. If you don’t have strength and you need length. You mention Waddle but he played a lot in the slot with guys like Devonta, who had really long arms, playing on the outside. You can’t sit here and so “oh so and so is small” when Rondale Moore, Atwell, and Eskridge weren’t even the No. 1 option for their teams and we’re used more like weapons than WRs.

You think you don’t need length? Go look a Clemson’s WR room and come back and tell me you don’t need length.

No you won’t. This isn’t the 90’s. All the CBs they’ll be facing are going to longer than than and they’ll be able to throw them off their route and out of bounds. Our roster are filled with guys who could “separate” just like that...until they hit hard rock stadium.

the vast majority of CBs and WRs in this past draft were under 200.
