never heard Of him. He would of stood out at palmetto ridge (no pun intended) if he was Miami caliber

How do I get this young man evaluated by someone at The U?

Stats:

6'8' tall (Yeah, not a typo.)
80.5" wingspan (Not a typo, either.)
4.5 40yd laser (Yup.)
4.45 40yd PR (I still wrote it right.)

Chris played freshman and sophomore years high school in Naples. Junior year was in New York. Due to moving back from NY to Naples, he did not play his senior year. There is a small amount of film out there, but I think it dates back to his first 2 years of HS. Even back then, Chris towered over his QB.

Chris graduated HS last spring, 2022. He is staying in shape by playing basketball for hours every day.

How do these 5'8" tall safeties guard against a Wide Receiver like Chris who is a foot taller, even faster, and has better footwork? IDK. I think Chris could come out of nowhere and be the next Jimmy Graham.

IDK how to evaluate kids. Not my line of work. Can we somehow get this young man a workout with someone on Mario's staff?

Chris is my neighbor. I have his phone and email. I'm willing to pass on his email to anyone who can evaluate him properly in person or who can get him in front of the staff for a workout.

Thank you all for helping this great young man, Fam!

You can certainly send Alonzo Highsmith an email ... his email is listed on the UM staff directory.

Guys, again... thank you all so very much! FAM!

Coach Paul asked me to make a correction-- when I mentioned Chris ran a 4.5 40yd LASER, I was mistaken. It was not measured by a laser, as far as Coach Paul knows. However, we still stand by the numbers of a 4.5 40yd and a 4.45 PR.

You might have seen him as a freshman or sophomore here in Naples. After that, he played in NY.

Did you see any of their games this year? Chris' younger brother Dom was the QB. He's just a freshman but already 6'5". I had planned to bring my 3 boys to see one of the games. None of them have ever see a HS football game before. Unfortunately, Hurricane Ian got in the way.

I went to Palmetto that’s crazy
Coach Paul is very approachable. He had no idea who I was last night. At Publix, he was line in front of me. His shirt had the Palmetto Ridge crest on it. He's tall. So I asked, "What's your last name?"

He must have thought I was nutzo, but he answered, lol.

If you wanna meet him, he's very approachable. Introduce yourself.

Rick... dude!!! Do you have any idea how embarrassed I feel right now??? LOLOLOL. Here I am thinking I need to learn some secret handshake and get the correct decoder ring to get Chris noticed. And then you posted THAT!!! Uhm, yeah, it might just be that simple, lol. I've asked Coach Paul for his email address. When he sends it to me, I will email Alonzo with a cc to Chris and Coach Paul.

I only met Alonzo once. He was a few years ahead of me at The U. I met him on campus in the breezeway. I might be wrong, but I think his leg was in a cast then. Not sure. So long ago.

Not gonna lie. He’s playing CB in his film and moves pretty well. @Rozbro_210 jas he ever ran drills/played TE or DE?

Zbrod, I have never asked him and that's on purpose. I secretly wanna see Chris dominate all the 5'8" safeties for the gainesville lizards, the trailerhassees, and Our Lady Leprechauns of Indiana. I mean, how do those guys stop someone with Chris' size and speed? I don't think they can. Which one of us does NOT wanna see that???

Chris is skinny and needs to gain weight, no matter the position. We spoke about the S&C program. I kinda blew him away when I showed him the before and after pics of Jaelan, lol. Yeah, Chris is that thin, but a few inches taller than Jaelan.

I will keep you guys updated on any progress I make.

May God bless you all!

He lived in Ny for a time?. I would say his best bet would be to go to the school Colbie Young was at before coming to UM. Lackawanna JUCO.

The coach apparently is plugged in with Mario and sold them on Colbie Young if he can go up tere and do what Colbie did at Lackawanna he will get offers.

I will do you a solid get in touch with the guys on twitter.

Send the same info you posted here to them and go from there.

JUCO would be a very good start. If he graduated w/ no academic issues, he may just need a season there instead of two. Prep school would be even better. Only need to put in the fall and transfer for the spring session.

Technically he isn’t eligible for prep school. The NCAA only give you 1 year after you graduate to compete on the amateur status without using a year of eligibility. Juco maybe the best route.

Ok, so I'm a bit confused. His father is a HS coach in Naples? If that's the case, shouldn't he have a clue on navigating the recruiting waters?

This makes no sense to me as well. Its his own kid you have to think he'd be sending out his film or reaching out to schools for him.
