How do I get this young man evaluated by someone at The U?

Stats:

6'8' tall (Yeah, not a typo.)
80.5" wingspan (Not a typo, either.)
4.5 40yd laser (Yup.)
4.45 40yd PR (I still wrote it right.)

Chris played freshman and sophomore years high school in Naples. Junior year was in New York. Due to moving back from NY to Naples, he did not play his senior year. There is a small amount of film out there, but I think it dates back to his first 2 years of HS. Even back then, Chris towered over his QB.

Chris graduated HS last spring, 2022. He is staying in shape by playing basketball for hours every day.

How do these 5'8" tall safeties guard against a Wide Receiver like Chris who is a foot taller, even faster, and has better footwork? IDK. I think Chris could come out of nowhere and be the next Jimmy Graham.

IDK how to evaluate kids. Not my line of work. Can we somehow get this young man a workout with someone on Mario's staff?

Chris is my neighbor. I have his phone and email. I'm willing to pass on his email to anyone who can evaluate him properly in person or who can get him in front of the staff for a workout.

Yes, but I believe the film dates back to when he was a Freshman and Sophomore. IDK if any film exists of his Junior year in NY. I am not sure if such old film is indicative of his current talents, ya know?

Try to walk on at a a Community College or JUCO and go from there. That's his best avenue as it doesn't sound like there's much to sell besides a frame and that's not going to cut it for really any decent conference.

Yep, needs to send his tape/profile to JUCO’s and Prep Schools. Atleast get his foot in the door and walk-on.

I would look up any and every member of the football staff.. get their emails and find their Twitter and IGs and send messages/film.

And/or have one of the guys on here that has connections, get it to them directly.

He lived in Ny for a time?. I would say his best bet would be to go to the school Colbie Young was at before coming to UM. Lackawanna JUCO.

The coach apparently is plugged in with Mario and sold them on Colbie Young if he can go up tere and do what Colbie did at Lackawanna he will get offers.

I will do you a solid get in touch with the guys on twitter.




Send the same info you posted here to them and go from there.

TRick, Chris is also interested in basketball. He is looking into that route as well.

However, 6'8" is average size for a basketball player. It's the top 1% for football players.

Chris' 40yd of 4.5 seconds and a wingspan of 80.5" are both top 1 or 2% for football players. How can our Canes NOT give him a workout? Chris would instantly become the tallest young man on the team and one of the 5 or 6 fastest.

Anyway, if you can help, we would be very grateful. Thank you, Brother!

I was in Publix tonight about an hour ago. The guy in front of me just happened to be Chris' dad, Paul Giovine. He's the Head Football Coach at Palmetto Ridge High School here in Naples. I had never met him or seen him before-- he was buying 3 turkeys!!! Yeah, that's what you do when you have 11 kids, lol.

It turns out that Chris' younger brother Dominic Giovine attended Paradise Camp this past year as a HS freshman. He was one of the kids working with Frank Ponce. Dom is just a freshman and already a 6'5" QB for Palmetto Ridge. From what Coach Paul told me, there are more supertall Giovines on the way! Might we have a Canes Dynasty Family? The 2020/2030 version of the Blades family?

I will have a meeting with them Coach Paul, Chris, and possibly Dom tomorrow. We will plot out a specific course of action. My preference? I don't wanna do any single thing suggested here by you guys. I want to do ALL of them!
