Word on the "street"

I'm currently on the field, and cunningham as well as Sonny are sure getting the vip treatment from golden and staff. Long conversations with golden, and those two were the only recruits i saw treated that way.

Good info, thanks. Have you spotted any other recruits?

Not many recruits here today. There was a 6'4" wr who was probably a 2014 who was getting some attention. Forgot the name.

Time to take up my position on the fire extonguishers. I'm in the shades, closest to the cameras when they come out of the helmet! ;)

I'll believe AJL plays receiver when I see it. Our secondary needs help more than our WR corps does.

You saying safety?

Seems like both CB and S have some young guys coming in at the positions, depending on where Burns ends up. AJL looks great on offense, I would hate to see him forced to defense.

If Thomas is a silent to FSU how would the staff find out? I doubt he, or anyone close enough to really know, would tell the staff that he is indeed a silent commit. Just sayin'.

I'm so glad to hear that about JC and Prep DL because our last two class of DL aren't gonna be ready to make an impact for two years.

Peter - I know the season is still early, but do you anticipate a number of guys from the team transferring after this season? If so, would this open up some more schollies for this class?

Yea there's a number of guys I see leaving the program and that would open up spots for sure but the staff may want to hold onto some of those spots for when the scholarship stuff hits

There are several players (mostly no surprises) that will likely be told to move on at the end of the season.

The same way everybody knows that Sony is basically a silent to us.

Whether we hear about penalties this year or not, do you see us self imposing some scholly reductions as part of the 2013 class?

Would not be a surprise considering the 2 deep depth chart at most positions. Most of our current JRs and SRs have not panned out which is a huge reason why we are so pathetic.

After watching Hunter and Patterson for Tennessee all year do we really have wr's on this team??? There may be a reason why we have a horizontal passing game.

No we don't have any true game breakers, but Cunningham isn't that guy to solve those issues. The 2014 WR class is very strong and remember AJL will be here in January.

I attended Coley's game against Miramar this weekend and was not impressed. Granted, I'm no scouting expert, but he just did not seem like he wanted to be out there. Perhaps having an awful QB is leading to some of his frustration. I couldn't get much of a read on him as a WR since the QB can hardly complete a pass. But on defense, Coley plays Safety nearly 20 yards down field like he is ready to receive a punt and avoid all contact. His pre-snap stance includes his legs crossed and arms folded. And every time he comes off the field, there are 3 coaches that have to get in his ear to talk him up. Again, this is just an outsider's opinion. But I wouldn't cry over losing Coley to someone else.

Does anyone know how AJL is doing at Prep? They must have played a few games by now. I think he was planning on playing both offense and defense.

-Throw the possibility of AJL possibly playing some DB out the window. He will be a receiver all the way here.

Really didn't think this was too much of a question mark. AJL has the potential to be a game breaker at WR and a solid player at DB. You take him where he is best utilizing his skills since the DB and WR are about even looking into the future.

As far as the question about his WR skills, Mariucchi had nothing but good things to say about AJL during the UA practices. Going prep and enrolling here early will be HUGE for him. He should see playing time his 1st year here at WR.

Just checked MaxPreps and the Fork Union box scores and AJL's name is nowhere to be found. Actually, he's not even listed on the roster.

That is their high school teams roster. They have both a high school team and a prep school team.

AJL was suppose to miss the beginning of the season with a minor injury...that is why is he not showing up on the box scores.
