Wooga Poplar sighting

Nova will be looking for a new coach after this year. Their NIL is OK but Jay Wright didnt just retire from burnout.

My buddy is psyched he played at La Salle with Lionel Simmons during their golden era and he thinks they will win the Big 5 this year which to the locals is huge. Bragging rights in the city. He's been miserable watching Nova the last 2 decades.

As a Nova alum, I thought Wooga would be a good fit at because of his shooting and ball friendly system to pass around and find the open shot but he seems to want to attack into the teeth of the D, which Nova never really does. There’s a reason why he went 3-11 the other day against St. Joes…

Wooga is an incredible shooter, but it seems like he wants to be something he is not.

He should be laser-focused on moving without the ball like Hawkins from UConn a couple years back. There's no reason why he's not putting up 7 threes per game.
He needs to watch Richard Hamilton and later in career Ray Allen film . Learn to work those picks / angles , footwork and master his best asset “ shooting “. He’ll never be a beat you off the dribble guy.

He left Miami because he (air quotes) “didn’t want to be put in a corner”.

Coach L saw Wooga as the guy who should be the teams leading scorer and a future NBA starter.

Wooga needs to do lots of things, but he doesn’t have much interest in listening these days.

It was obvious he was one of the type of guys that didn’t know his strengths and weaknesses which is big. He was always trying to put the ball on the floor and be something he’s not. He has a loose handle and is pretty much one dimensional , which is fine.

If he were smart he’d be two dribble pull up guy and spot up in corners. He’d make a killing doing that. I guess he’d rather be overseas being a go to guy dominating the ball lol. Oh well.
