Off head real quick...Devunta Freeman is from Pork n Beans projects. Him and like 2 other kids from there that grew up together made it out of there the same year.

Good looks on the info. I should have tagged you. I knew you would have known. Thats crazy all those NFL players coming out of Miami and only 3 from the PJs and Miami PJs aren't even crazy like other cities. Imagine how few it is in other cities. I know in NYC no one from the PJs is making the NBA anymore.

Freeman and his homeboys withnessed a shootout that killed like 4 or 5 people in front of where i grew up on 71st and 15th ave. I think he had just went home and it was a dice game going on. Yea Pork n Beans (rip) aint a normal project..**** near the whole show First 48 show is based on like 6 or 7 murder on a 2 block radius.

Its mostly calm but when its hot...its hot..i doubt there is more than 2 or 3 pjs in nyc with more of a violent history than there. And NYC projects have thousands of people living in them.We're talking about a place with a few hundred people. My fam is in the BX/Harlem...alot of my fam is from the area around the pork n beans in Liberty City and my aunt was living there for some years this decade. Its a crazy place to be because sh*t pops off no matter when...and they are beefing within steps of each other. Its pretty well documented. 1 of the most ruthless places in america

I think they had good runs...i mean Queensbridge, and Lefrak produced a sh*t ton of nba/college ball players.
Then you had Marbury, his cousin Telfair, and Lance Stephenson off head out of BK.

I dont know about recent..but looks like these youngings mostly wanna be rappers.
The project kids in Miami are still playing football.

Out of all the kids you coached that go to the NFL. Would you say most of them grow up in the projects or most of them grow up slightly better off? That is all I'm saying. For real. I want to hear your opinion on that because I know you would be the one to know. I know in NYC the PJs are not pumping out kids like that anymore. I know the same thing is happening in my cousins hoods in other cities.

In Miami its also "cool" to be a football player. In NYC if your not in a gang and play basketball your labeled a hooper. I know other cities like Detroit its the same thing. Which makes lots of real talented kids give less of af about school and sports which is why the kids who grow up in the better areas are the ones pumping out more players than the hoods now.

I have a lot of boys in Miami that I met down there. I hung out hundreds of times down there in the PJs, but they are nothing like NYCs PJs. You right they are smaller, but NYCs are much more violent, but only if you are a gang member. We are making to much money in the D game to be mugging random people for 50 dollars. And unless your cousins are in the streets like that they may not even realize that the mobbed up PJs get tons of murders labeled suicides. I'm talking about dozens of "suicides" a year in a PJ or they just stay missing persons so the murder rate goes down. Polo Grounds where I'm from our guys cop from the Russians and murders are never counted as murders because of it. Not that murder rate means schit either. You got guys with 15 bodies that get killed by a cop who has 2 bodies, but is ex military and actually knows what hes doing. We got guys that are getting paid 7 figures a hit.

And Miami had 48 murders last year. We had 48 murders by the middle of February this year.

Ya, but they are all old. They grew up back when you could just cheat your way through HS and if you got caught fighting in class a teacher would just give you detention. Now you are getting expelled for just smacking a kid lol.

In NY in the PJs kids want to be mobsters. I see kids all the time the guys they look up to are the OGs and Russians. They will straight up say it Lebron ain't getting money like them and he ain't getting it in like them.

There isnt that much "Projects" in south florida anymore. The one we are speaking of is basically gone or about to be completely finished before august and rebuilt into apartments, most are already completed. So the numbers are pretty skewed if your calling it PJS.

But Liberty City which is inner city or the hood is likely the most densely populated area of div 1 football players in america.

Broward County just pumped a sh*t ton of nfl players the last few drafts and those kids are mostly "suburban"...so ill say that i agree its evening out currently.

The inner city or hoods in south florida is still pumping out athletes at a high rate though, probably more so than the other states like your saying...because its like a foundation/religion to those areas.

Its surprising NYC hasnt pumped more emphasis into football. Im actually happy we landed 3 nyc players in last class.

Back when I was chilling in Miami it was 8-10 years ago so I can't speak for how it was today. but ya I know what you mean.

I appreciate the info bro. I just was going off what I am seeing up here and then when I see all these kids on signing day and on visits. Kids are bringing their dads which was crazy to me. I expected a couple kids to have dads, but not the amount I was seeing. It seemed like at least half of them had dads coming down. Then you got guys like Jarren posting pics home for summer break and kids lives in **** near a small mansion lol. So it just seemed like none of these kids were from the real hood/slums. Like you aren't seeing many ballers coming out of O Block or Highland Park.

But nah not just PJs. Slums in general. But I guess Miami is different if you are seeing a lot of kids still coming out of the real hoods. You know a lot more about the football game in Miami then me and its not even close.

It seems from what I am seeing a lot of the guys who were the best athletes up here are either getting killed, locked up, making to much money to play sports, or kicked out school before they could graduate. Where as the kids from the poor-middle class areas stay away from the street enough to be able to go to school.

A lot of our good football players end up going to NJ and PA like Saquan Barkley. Some even commute from NYC to the schools in NJ because those NJ schools are much less strict. One of my boys little bros played on the private schoool team with that kid Antonio Alfano from NJ who ended up going to Bama last year. The kid did a ton of schit but it all got covered up by the school.

facts more people the more violent its fuqin nuts in big cities like Newark BX BK etc............JC they got rid of mostly all the pjs cause they were too violent. Duncan gone Booker T gone the Woods gone..............theres no PJ in JC no more and they got strict with the rules.

I saw that first 48 **** on what gogeta is talking about and those kids are pretty ruthless it being small they pop but the bigger it is the more crazier it is.

The best athlete NY and NJ have to offer dont care about school or sports.............we got mega athletes just like Florida its just they not into sports they into clappin.

You are speaking straight facts though. Its not "cool" to be an athlete in NY and NJ. The best athletes in NYC all banged the guys that played sports were the second tier athletes and a lot of them ended up playing for big name D1 schools and some are even in the NBA. Florida kids see a bunch of NFL players pulling up in escalades and say I want to be like them. NY kids see the OGs hanging out with mobsters pulling up 10 phantoms deep and say fvck being a hooper I wanna be like them.

FACTS

Florida kids see that life and the athletes they go get it. We see OGs and thats who we want ot be and few of us snap out of it and live a real respectable life. Most these young kids in the tri state are cooked, straight gang bangers. Look at the talent though u see a guy from the Bronx like Barkley and hes already an all time great if he doesn't get hurt. We lazy af we want pu55y and want to get high and gang bang those r facts, we not hungry over here for the right way to do things life we just crazy af. I always teach my kids dont go down those roads.

Exactly 100% and the funny thing is you go to the kids in the BX go look at Saquan. Don't you want to be like him. They will straight up tell you hes not getting money like the OGs and he doesn't get the power or respect of the OGs. They don't want that life. They want the money/power/respect.

NCAA hates us and has gone after us every chance they get. Look results of the witch hunts. Howard got nailed for things like giving away some tea shirts and not charging interest over the weekend when a kid was loaned money for food. Kids got illegal phone cards but not from boosters. A drug addict ADMINISTATOR not coach got busted for fraud in Pell grants where he was getting kick backs from the kids, only some of who were foootball players. Some crook lays 50 Gs on a Clintonite and then spends a few thousand on kids.

If there was even the smallest brown lunch bag dropped anywhere near a Cane player, there would have been DOJ called in. We were probably the cleanest there was. Did guys like me pay a tab for table full of players at a restaurant, maybe but that would be after they were player not for recruiting. It was reward for kicking ***, not some bride to come hear.
