Mario Cristobal and his staff are certainly going to make a run at another Top 10 class after signing one a cycle ago.
Perhaps top five.
Simmons: “It was amazing,” Monica McCarley (Simmons mother) stated.
“They had a whole plan for him,” McCarley continued. “They listed out the plan for each year that he would be there and it didn’t just include football. It included education, internships for what he wants to do after football. It wouldn’t hurt for him to get developed by a Hall of Famer himself Coach (Jason) Taylor. He knows what it takes to get to the next level and has done it. He is the blue print.”
Just the scene around the program made the Simmons camp feel comfortable.
“Miami is beautiful,” McCarley said. “The campus itself is like being on vacation. If I were a student there I’d never leave.”
Ellis Robinson: "It was a very good visit," Robinson said. "I’d say my favorite part was spending time with Coach Guidry and Addae. We talked about football and life. I got a chance to see how they teach. Also talked about the plan they have for me in the defense. They're both good dudes and they have won everywhere they’ve been. I think Miami football is headed in the right direction under coach Cristobal’s leadership."
Dylan Stewart: Miami continues to rise with Stewart. They are perhaps even becoming the one to watch among the likes of Georgia, South Carolina and Ohio State among others.
Stone: Stone has been on the Hurricanes campus as much as any since the spring. He also likes Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas A&M and Florida to name a few.
"The experience at Miami has been my favorite so far of the official visit season. My favorite thing about the program would have to be the coaches. I mean I have a very good relationship with them, and I can trust him with my development as well."
No question the Hurricanes are on the short list for
Breland.
TJ Lindsay: “My experience was definitely good,” “My favorite thing about the potential in playing for Miami is getting coached by JT and Coach Joey.”
Jerrick Gibson: The Hurricanes continue to trend up with IMG Academy Top247 running back
Jerrick Gibson. Texas is the 247Sports Crystal Ball favorite but the Hurricanes have gotten a few visits this calendar year and are making this one more and more interesting. The Gibson camp navigated through three-plus hours of traffic to get to campus.
“It was worth it,” Victor Jenkins, Gibson’s father stated.
“Oh man when I tell you last time they’re family oriented, this time they really, really showed it. It wasn’t like we weren’t just with Jerrick position coach the whole trip. We built relationship for example with the defensive line coach, the receivers coach, the DB coach, we built relationships with them. That was my first time I was honestly felt comfortable leaving Jerrick there.”
Jenkins is intrigued by the trajectory of the program.
“I like the style of plays they have,” he said. “With the new offensive coordinator they got from Houston, he has a great plan for how he wants to use Jerrick. Not only is he going to be productive but he’s going to be productive without all the wear and tear."
Braylon Stanley: “My experience was great,” Staley said. “I love the place. Really everything. I can’t even pick out certain details, everything really stood out to me.”
Elijah Lofton: “What caught my eye this weekend is how coaches and staff are going to turn around this Miami program,” Lofton said. “My experience for Miami was really good and I love it out there. My favorite thing was hanging out with the coaches and the players. They showed me how I am welcome in Miami. They showed me how they are going to make me better on the field and in the classroom and in life.”
Pruitt: The biggest news of the weekend was the commitment from Pruitt who picked Miami over opportunities from Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, LSU, Notre Dame, Missouri, Penn State and Tennessee among others.
“My favorite thing about Miami is their people and their coaches,” Pruitt said. “What made me commit is they’ve been consistent for a long time and they have a plan and amazing goals that is set for me. Also the energy and the vibe I get. It feel like I was already on the team. It was very exciting. The coaches are also good people and have experience in the NFL where I’m trying to go.”
