Moise is an extreme Project on the O-Line... His future is at DT

Right now we're recruiting Diego Pounds and have a real chance to land him. I think he's much better then Moise
The future, as with our past, depends completely on attrition.
In a 5-year time period, you can sign 125 kids. Team limit is 85. That allows for 40 attrition spots, or 8 per year (over 5 years).
Thus, if you lose more than 8 per year for any reason (including early graduation), it becomes very hard to get to 85 under the 25 per year limit.
Look at some of our "senior" classes. Less than 17 players. No bueno.
As I have mentioned previously:
1. Normal fall enrollees cannot "count forward", they have to count for THAT academic year (which is August-July).
2. Spring/summer enrollees can be CALLED "count forward" if you like, but they really are just showing up early. They count for the same academic year they counted for 20 years ago (the upcoming academic year beginning in August), when spring/summer enrollees were rare.
3. The only REAL "count forward" is a blueshirt. Grayshirts are just the same as spring/summer enrollees.
4. Blueshirts require no official recruitment, as well as the non-signing of an LOI/FAA. We can dream about all the loopholes in the world, but blueshirting remains rare, and only certain kinds of players/situations really fit the blueshirt rules.
Physical. Shoulders I believeGrade rehab or physical rehab?
Right Shoulder I believe.SIAP what is his injury?
But we just counted a kid who is arriving this summer to 2021, didn't we? he is eligible this fall obviously. Can't we do that again next year to get 25 kids in instead of 24? And in a couple of years when we don't have enough room for a full class, wouldn't the pay it forward expire?
No. No we did not.
Walker counts on the 2020-2021 year. He was recruited, he signed an LOI, he is ineligible for blueshirt treatment.
Williams cannot start school until the fall. He can be awarded a scholarship (no LOI/FAA) one day after fall begins. That, plus the lack of recruiting, is what allows us to count him against the 2021-2022 class.
But, to make the point once again...just because we succeeded with a blueshirt once does not mean we will find another player who will want to go through the uncertainty. People are whining because (assuming we take Moise in January) we only have 7 spots left, and they are desperately clinging to the hope that we can get another spot for one of these HS recruits. But I'm telling you, some 4 or 5 star difference-maker is NOT going to blueshirt at Miami...he's not going to skip all the recruiting...he's not going to bypass his National Signing Day ceremony...he's not going to skip signing an LOI or FAA...
Could we get a preferred walk on, or some sort of late-breaking "I didn't think the guy was gonna qualify" dude? Sure, maybe. But highly unlikely.
So Williams will arrive in time for fall camp and play this season. That works for the 25th best kid in the class. Lets rinse and repeat that each year until we cap out and have a natural 24 man or less class.

We need to also hope that CMD works out. Each collapse of a HC regime and a new regime coming aboard leads to higher than normal turnover. In our case, we're had two head coaches in five years. We need to do a better job at recruiting our own players to stay. Hopefully winning helps that. Eventually going to need all of our juniors to stop leaving to become undrafted.

I dont see how he's a power 5 starting OlinemanHe really isnt.

Yes assuming they aren’t JAGs. We’ve had too many of those over the past 2 decades.
247 says 291.seems like were having less and less Jags. Those usually arent the guys leaving early that im talking about.
But not to get off topic, even with limited spots, Cant wait for this to become official. I want to see him get 4 games under his belt this year, and redshirt. Anybody know what his weight is currently?
Why didn't anyone recruit him to be OL? His film as a Oline on Hudl does not look very goodIf you see him as a power 5 dt, well he's looked even better playing OL. He's a guy that can move really well in a zone scheme at Guard, he finishes blocks really well and has been taught real good technique on the OL.
What Hudl were you watching? I think his OL film looks **** good. As well as his DT film. Remember this is a 4 star kid at DT before the injury. And it’s pretty much a consensus that he’s even better at OL. Not sure why in the world you would think he is not a take. Could very well be the best Olineman we get for the 2021 classWhy didn't anyone recruit him to be OL? His film as a Oline on Hudl does not look very good
He's nowhere near the level of Seymore and RodriguezWhat Hudl were you watching? I think his OL film looks **** good. As well as his DT film. Remember this is a 4 star kid at DT before the injury.
