Willie Johnson....

In the arrticle he says Tennessee wants him to get his grades up.... so he probably wont even qualify..dnt waste our time going after him..

thank god we didn't waste our time with that Devin Hester guy when we thought he wouldn't qualify

Not the same situation...u really compared him to Hester???? Lol.... Hester had offers from everybody from the start.... he didn't

Ok, Frank Gore might not have qualified and only had Ole Miss going after him... And Ole Miss sucked *** back then

Are you serious??? Lol... I knw Frank personally, grew up with him and went to high school with him at Gables before I moved and went to Palmetto... Plenty of schools wanted him but he was goin to go to Ole Miss cause Butch wouldn't offer Roscoe Parrish, said he was too small...Coker is the reason we got both when he took over... his only problem he had a reading disability but he still had the grades and they offered tutoring for him at UM

here is the thing miami can't take every top wr in south florida. u can only take so many wr's in a class. they have a solid wr class already and look to be going after mercole hardaman and benjamin victor. south florida is always gonna have more wr's and cb's then miami can take in every class.

not saying kid isn't gonna be a star just miami has to pick and choose which ones they want the most and make sure they get those they really want.

I see you're new so you may not know a few things. First thing is that no matter who's committed, there's always some other dude who is much better. And when we don't land that dude, it will prove the coaches don't know as much as people on this board. A corollary to this is that anybody who goes anywhere else, even dudes nobody's ever heard of, and does well proves that the coaches can't recruit/evaluate talent. Basically, the only way for the staff to not completely suck is to sign 219 kids every year.

u are right i am new to this site. i just found it a few days ago due to bleacher report. i tend to trust the coaches. maybe that is wrong. i don't get to see these kids in person and im not a scout so what do i know. i just think a new staff especially one with richts track record deserves the benifit of the doubt.

i do believe people have to be realistic though, if miami took every top wr and cb in south florida every year they wouldnt' be able to feild a dl or ol at all.

he was being sarcastic and letting you know how ridiculous the posters on here are.

Everyone on here is a recruiting expert and the coaches are in a lose lose. If they get a highly touted guy we want and the kid is a bust, coaches get blamed for development. If they don’t go after some no name player who ends up balling elsewhere then they are terrible recruiters and let all the “studs get away”.

Came across this thread. Willie signed with Marshall and rumor has it that he will be eligible this fall. Wish the new staff would have taken a look at him, kid can fly and has good hands.

Phillip Buch a Ft. Myers guy so he has good knowledge of the top talent down there. If we aren't on him then I'd like to see him go to my USF Bulls. If it's to keep him from Tenesissie then take him. **** definitely fast as ****.

You realize a quahog with a fake HS diploma could get eligible at Marshall right?

That doesn't make sense because most kids that come to Marshall with bad grades have to prop or whatever it's called now (enroll but sit out their 1st year to focus on grades and try to get eligible). They have multiple kids do it every year. So if his grades were that bad, he would have had to go that route instead of being eligible this fall(if he is, like I said it's a rumor).

Why mention Devin just based off of grades? Big difference in quality of player. Devin was a TOP recruit & everyone's all American in several sports

Nother horrible comparison. Frank didn't so much have bad grades all around. He had a severe learning disability. He was also Florida's mr.football & an amazing player at gables.
