The Pack are about to elevate to the top tier of the ACC. Great hire by them, shows a real committment to basketball, and fans will be super excited.
Nah, why get a proven coach when you can get the dude from Family Matters?Gonna hate it if the Pack does better than us the next few years. This is the guy I think Miami should’ve had at the top of their wish list
This will be a fun thread to revisit a year from nowThe Pack are about to elevate to the top tier of the ACC. Great hire by them, shows a real committment to basketball, and fans will be super excited.

Well One coach has 11 years of Head Coaching experience, made tournament 7 times, and would have been 8 if not for Covid. Will Wade would have been such a perfect fit at Miami, it honestly should just irritate all serious Miami basketball fans that we didn't go after him. This will be a fun thread to revisit a year from now
Two things can be true at the same time. 1. We should have hired Will Wade and 2. Let's hope Lucas hires a great assistant, and recruits like he was at Duke and Kentucky.
This is correctLucas can do very well here and Wade still have been the safer, high yield choice. These are not mutually exclusive.
Maybe fun but it won't mean much. The guy Will Wade replaced was on the verge of going on a cinderella final four run just a year ago. How this thread ages in 4 to 5 years is of bigger consequence. This isn't me lobbing something at you but it wouldn't surprise me if the initial short term buzz of hiring "the top assistant in college basketball" played an overinflated part in the Lucas hire. Focusing on flash instead of sustainable substance. This will be a fun thread to revisit a year from now
But watch this thread for 5 years from now when Lucas is at Texas, if he is productive here... (thought Miami was against guys that may leave for other jobs... or is that only a football excuse.... )I was told nobody wanted him so we shouldn’t either
If he’s that good here, it’s a win either way. But If the school won’t pay up to keep a young superstar coach, just fold the program. But watch this thread for 5 years from now when Lucas is at Texas, if he is productive here... Correct all around. If he’s that good here, it’s a win either way. But If the school won’t pay up to keep a young superstar coach, just fold the program.
Wade basically said yesterday NCSU was not who he hoped to be coaching next season (Texas was the school he was hoping for).Gonna hate it if the Pack does better than us the next few years. This is the guy I think Miami should’ve had at the top of their wish list
Now baseball on the other hand. Two things can be true at the same time. 1. We should have hired Will Wade and 2. We are a committed basketball program
