Comparing teddy to gardner LOL , Gardner can't avoid the pressure and make the throws teddy did in the RAB , i mean hes having a ****** training camp vs that ****** defense y'all have this year

I don't know what Golden is thinking about the LV game but I can tell you allot of ticket holders like me will not take a loss to LV this year.

I don't want to hear a suspension before the game of a starter.. or some bull**** about community service day before the game.

This is football and Goldens *** is on the clock here. I was going to give him some slack after the QB situation but with what I hear and see we have options and enough talent to beat LV... if we lose it is 100% on the coaching.

dear LV fan, its ok to talk smack.. but dont' forget.. you had a decent run with a first round pick QB. Granted you have a coach that is better then most coaches but end of the day your #1 player is gone.. so no matter how you spin this.. you are not going to be as good as last year.. it is impossible. unless magically all these great players were held back and benched last year.

so during Miami vs LV.. keep an eye out for #3, #8 and #52... you going to hear their numbers called out a bunch!

The fact that its Petrinos first game kind of negates his advantage imo. Coaches dont change things overnight. Plus they have the only D coordinator that might be worse then D'onofrio

if we lose the LV game this year then Goldens time is up at Miami...sorry to say but he is not here to educate young man.. he is here to win football games. i know this is against some peoples believes but I rather have a 12-0 record then 80% graduating class... thats just me

if we win the LV game then we are 1 milestone closer to where we need to be.. until we are able to beat FSU we are still nowhere near where we need to be and I think with a good coach we have enough talent to compete with FSU.

Louisville lost their stud QB, pass rushing demon DL/LB, stud S (all drafted 1st round). They lost a great MLB, the other starting S, a DT expected to start, a WR who beat us up and a couple OL. They are instituting a new system on offense and defense.

They have a talented, inexperienced QB, a 1st round WR, a great running game, have another pass rushing demon and return aggressive corners.

Sounds like Miami minus the new schemes. It'll be a game and they'll try to start fast to get the crowd going, but we aren't losing that game. Not with Duke back and the talent increases.

Whew looks like the greatest coach in the world dodge a bullet his first game at Arkansas almost losing to D2 school.. LOL

Arkansas nips Western Illinois in Petrino's debut

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Casey **** scored on a 4-yard run with 1:49 remaining, and Arkansas avoided disaster in Bobby Petrino's first game as coach, rallying to beat Western Illinois 28-24 Saturday night.

The Razorbacks trailed 24-14 in the fourth quarter, but **** found Greg Childs over the middle for a 26-yard touchdown, then led an 83-yard drive for the winning score. Arkansas faced fourth-and-10 at the Western Illinois 33, but rather than attempt a field goal with strong-legged Alex Tejada, Petrino decided to go for it.

**** completed a pass to Carlton Salters, who just barely picked up the first down. The Razorbacks moved all the way to the 4, where **** took a shotgun snap and ran left into the end zone.

Matt Barr threw incomplete on fourth down to end the Leathernecks' final drive.

Arkansas was playing its first game under Petrino, who was hired last December to replace Houston Nutt. The new era was off to a bad start before the game even began when the school announced running back Michael Smith's one-game suspension for improper use of scholarship textbooks.

With Darren McFadden and Felix Jones in the NFL, the Razorbacks were left to rely on freshmen to run the ball. Arkansas needed a big game from ****, the senior quarterback, to come away with the win.

**** went 25-of-41 for 318 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, numbers that would have been even better if his receivers hadn't dropped about a half-dozen passes. **** ran for two TDs in the second half.

Western Illinois is one of the better teams in the Football Championship Subdivision, but that's still college football's second tier. When the Leathernecks went ahead 17-7 in the third quarter, the Arkansas crowd appeared stunned. Fans weren't even all that quick to boo -- as they did so often during Nutt's final season with the team.

The folks in Atlanta must have been giddy with excitement when the Razorbacks went down by 10 in the fourth quarter. Petrino was the Falcons' coach last year before abruptly leaving late in the season to take the Arkansas job.

Javid Milton scored from a yard out on fourth down to make it 24-14, but the Leathernecks couldn't hold off the Razorbacks much longer.

Herb Donaldson rushed for 157 yards and a touchdown for Western Illinois. He also caught a 12-yard scoring pass from Barr early in the second half to make it 17-7.

**** answered with a 23-yard touchdown run.

For a while, the game was reminiscent of Arkansas' season-opening loss to the Citadel in 1992. That game got coach Jack Crowe fired, and although Petrino can expect a much longer leash, the honeymoon could be brief if the Razorbacks' youngsters continue to struggle.

Arkansas looked out of sorts from the very beginning. Freshman Elton Ford returned the opening kickoff to the 15 before fumbling, giving Western Illinois great field position. The Leathernecks botched a field goal attempt on that possession, but they took the lead later in the first quarter on Taylor Rowan's 42-yard kick.

**** put Arkansas ahead in the second quarter with a 10-yard scoring pass to freshman Joe Adams, but Donaldson scored on a 3-yard run with 1:21 remaining, giving Western Illinois a 10-7 halftime lead.

He followed up the first game by almost getting beat my ULM

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Casey **** threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to D.J. Williams with 1:22 remaining, and Louisiana-Monroe's Jeremy Gener missed a 45-yard field goal, enabling Arkansas to escape with a 28-27 victory Saturday night.

The Razorbacks (2-0) trailed 24-6 in the third quarter and 27-14 in the fourth, but rallied for the second straight week to avoid a major upset. On fourth-and-1 from the Louisiana-Monroe 32 with 2:03 remaining, **** faked a handoff and lobbed a deep pass down the middle while under a heavy pass rush. Chris Gragg came down with the ball at the 7 for his first career catch.

Moments later, **** threw the winning touchdown pass, but the Razorbacks had to withstand one final drive by the gutsy Warhawks. Kinsmon Lancaster completed passes of 27 and 12 yards to Anthony McCall, but the Warhawks eventually stalled and Gener's final kick was off the mark.

Louisiana-Monroe (0-2) lost to Auburn 34-0 in its opener, but the Warhawks shocked Alabama in November and nearly took out another Southeastern Conference team in Little Rock.

Lancaster found McCall for a 33-yard touchdown strike early in the third quarter, and Gary Frazier's 1-yard scoring run made it 24-6. **** answered with an 8-yard touchdown pass to Williams, then threw to Williams for a 2-point conversion.

Gener's 40-yard field goal gave the Warhawks a 27-14 advantage, but **** found Williams over the middle for a 76-yard catch-and-run, the longest pass of the senior quarterback's career. Michael Smith scored on a 4-yard run on the next play, and just like that it was 27-21.

The winning drive began at the Arkansas 21 with 4:24 to play. For the second straight week, the Razorbacks needed a big fourth-down conversion. Last week, **** completed a fourth-down pass, then ran for the winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter in a 28-24 victory over Western Illinois.

Smith rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns. He was back in the lineup for Arkansas after being suspended for the opener.

Smith rushed for 121 yards in the first half, but the Razorbacks trailed 10-6 after two quarters thanks to an abysmal stretch of special teams. Alex Tejada missed field goals of 45 and 25 yards in the first quarter, then missed an extra point early in the second. After missing the extra point, Tejada was called for delay of game on the ensuing kickoff and then kicked the ball out of bounds, giving Louisiana-Monroe the ball at its 45.

The Warhawks capitalized, taking the lead on a 1-yard pass from Lancaster to McCall. On Arkansas' next possession, McCall blocked a punt, and Louisiana-Monroe took over at the Arkansas 21. Gener's 20-yard field goal made it 10-6.

On the next kickoff, Arkansas freshman Dennis Johnson caught the ball next to the sideline at the 1, then accidentally stepped out of bounds at his own 5 as he ran up the field.

Shay Haddock took over for Tejada on extra points and made Arkansas' last two -- including the one that provided the winning margin.

Bobby Petrino was hired in December as Arkansas' coach, and he faces a bit of a rebuilding project after the Razorbacks lost running backs Darren McFadden and Felix Jones to the NFL. **** went 22-of-34 for 323 yards and two touchdowns, and Williams caught five passes for 124 yards.

Lancaster was 23-of-39 for 270 yards and two touchdowns. McCall caught six passes for 125 yards.

Arkansas was cheered on by a home crowd at Little Rock's War Memorial Stadium, but the Razorbacks were technically the visitors under an agreement that allowed Louisiana-Monroe to count the game's attendance of 55,048.

You said it yourself. D'Onfrio is weaker than Petrino. Coley hasn't done enough to be considered stronger than Grantham. 3rd down efficiency will define him this year as he was putrid at it last year. One of the main reasons our defense was on the field so much. Quick strike scores are great but sustaining drives and keeping our weakness off the field (defense) is the way he should have adjusted last year. We saw, vertical on 1st down, stretch play on 2nd and didn't convert on 3rd way too much last year. Coley's development as an OC is the underrated wild card that isn't being talked about enough

I truly believe that third down efficiency and red zone scoring percentage will define this team. Just don't believe we'll be able to lean on this defense much at all. To me, the best offenses can big play you, ball control, essentially they can do whatever they want and dictate what the defense does. Our defense needs every bit of help the offense can give it. That said, our defense needs to get some **** three and outs.
