Why we could and should be optimistic

Urban Meyer - National Championship in year 2 and 4
Jimbo Fisher - National Championship in year 4
Al Golden - ??? in year 4

this is year 4, and we're looking real good. freshman talented QB, duke johnson, stacy coley, dalvin cook. could this be a NC team? potentially. out system has been implemented. we've recruited well.

guys, there's really only one team on our schedule that should give us issues. there's no denying fsu is more talented than us. heisman winning qb, top ten pick defensive end, pj williams, jalen ramsey, ronald darby future 1st rounders. it's a fact, we have to own it. but we have heart and it's in our house. I know it's ridiculous, but guys, we underestimate heart. our guys have grown up in the 305 and know what it's like to be down in the 4th. these guys aren't going back to their homes 30 minutes from sun life getting our *** handed to us again for the 5th year straight and 7 out of the last 8. that'd be pathetic. nah, this is the U and we don't put up with that kind of ****. I really think we'll be ready for them in our house, shock them then coast to the final 4 undefeated.

no guarantees fellas, but this is put up or shut up. don't post in this thread if you think we're going 9-3 or worse. that's not acceptable IMO.

I want to be optimistic but Corch Al's track record as a CEO leaves me no other choice but to be pessimistic.

Jimbo and Turban didn't have to follow bumbling Randy Shannon and Jewbastard **** Shapiro. Al will have his 5 full years with a Mulligan for year 1 giving him an extra for 6.

Da U was a burnt out Caddilac when F/AG got here. Dude will be judged hard this year with year 5 and 6 defining his future.

Did we flip Dalvin Cook last minute and I missed it?

oh ****, my apologies. the guy we got is his backup. my bad. I just looked up miami central rb and he was the one with the highlights. our guy's name is joseph yearby btw.

Cook backed up Yearby. Yearby played more snaps, and more touches through both of their time at central.

Yearby Could have had an even better year last season if he didn't go down in the playoffs with 2 more to go, and he still had a great season.

so you think cook is better than yearby? good to know. i'm going to go look up their highlights and rankings on 247sports. admittedly I don't creepily fanboy over high school boys

Me personally. As a prospect Cook.

As players throughout high school Yearby.

And the reason I say Cook as a prospect is because of his measurables compared to Yearby's even though that is not everything. That is what put him higher than Yearby at the end of the rankings.

Yearby in his own right considered a top 5 back from 2014.

Both Cook and Yearby were great in high school. Both are coming off injuries now. Yearby looks healthy. Haven't heard anything on Cook a lot yet cause he's at FSU now. Yearby is #2 on depth chart here and last I remember Cook is #3 for FSU even though I'm sure he'll be #2 soon.

Some consider Yearby to be better cause he has a great skillset and can also catch the ball and has some of the best feet for a runningback and can run between the tackles and was an all around great back.

Some consider Cook better cause he has better measurables and is a bit faster than Yearby. So Cook is considered to have more potential. And ended up the better prospect for that.

The debate is gonna go on for years till both are done at Miami and FSU.

Right now I won't pick between the two. Cause it's early, now their in college, rankings go out the window.

If it's worth anything. Yearby was rated higher than Cook originally, before the injury on some sites. Ended up going down with the injury with 2 games left in the playoffs and the all star game and Cook took off, Cook got more carries with Yearby out and played well in the all-star game. Cook got the bump while Yearby was nursing the injury and sat out his last high school games and all star game.
Cook is the better athlete, Yearby is the better running back.

Both will be successful in college and will look wildly different doing so.

What were our recruiting rankings leading up to 2001-2002? Not top 3. Not top 5. Occasionally top 10?
But Jimbo wasn't losing to the likes of Wake Forest and NC State.

Wait the *** up. See this is that dumb ****, Jimbo recruited 4 straight top 3 classes and even better classes than Bama. They recruited a **** of a defensive line and invaded sfla and grabbed elite prospects all over. It's why they won period, we will not be on that level no way. I'm saying this because with the way we recruited we are good but not elite championship level good. we gotta stop Fsu from taking the cooks and lanes if not they will rape us yearly. We will not beat them this year again and it might get ugly again because they just have better players IMO.

Again different time, recruiting is covered really all over now. That **** in 01 means nada, 2001 in terms of recruiting is ancient the way technology has evolved in 10 plus years.

Goebbels with the Jewbastard comment, nice work.

had two different thoughts and combined them. sorry guys. you completely missed the point. we're all canes. quit being internet tough guys and let's talk football.

We cant talk football if you make asinine statements like:

no guarantees fellas, but this is put up or shut up. don't post in this thread if you think we're going 9-3 or worse. that's not acceptable IMO.

In this case, you get what you get and you don't get upset. Joseph Yearby is a Miami Hurricane.

Yearby needs a crack, Cook needs a hole. You would think at least this year that FSwho's OL will open holes, our offensive line not so much, thus it may be difficult to truly compare.

could this be a NC team? potentially.

Somebody let the OP know Golden is 1-11 against the only 12 teams he's faced during his first 3 years here that finished with 7 or more wins.

1-11 and you're comparing him to 3 of the better coaches in the NCAA.

This thread is whole heaping serving of Don Bailey Jr with a side Joe Z.

Based on your criteria, the record is actually 9-12, not 1-11.

Posts like this are just so ******* dumb. Urban Meyer won the NC in his second year. Jimbo Fisher had won his ACC division his first year and won the ACC his third year. Golden can't even beat out Duke for the division.

Golden's career at UM so far actually mirrors Shannon's pretty closely (though not exactly). We all know how that turned out.
