It nice that he compliments us but his argument doesn't really hold water

Cause UF never won a NC till 1996 and by then we weren't that great

Penn St won a NC in 86 but beat us head to head. Same thing for ND in 88. Also even if FSU would have avoided us in the regular season we would have just been waiting for them in the bowl game. Bottom line is FSU didn't win many NC before 93 cause they weren't the best team. And Miami won a bunch of NC cause we usually were the best team.

somehow I never hated Bobba. I always thought of him as an elderly-neighbor type. The type that would call the law on you for partying too much, but would also invite to his 4th of july BBQ.

Bobby's part of the reason, at-least for me the rivalry was considered "friendly" at one point. He was always gracious even after heartbreaking losses. Douchebag FSU fans made me want them to crash and burn, but I didn't hate the program itself like I hated the Urban Meyer Gators.

I liked bobby to cause he always spoke well of Miami teams and showed them a lot of respect

i remember back in 97 when teams were beating us badly..and reporters asked if miami would ever be back...he could have really negative recruiter against us and he something to the effect.....too much talent down there they always be good I just gonna take the easy wins while I can cause its gonna get tougher in the future

I lost all respect for Bobby Bowden when he pulled his BS nice guy act to ***** Miami out of the National Championship game in 2000. He campaigned on "what does head to head really mean anyway". Miami lost early in the season to a one loss Washington in their house after a BS call gave them the win then Miami regrouped and went undefeated knocking off the mighty Noles who were defending national champs and he had the nerve to talk all that **** only to lose in embarrassing fashion to OU in an absolute snoozefest when Miami would have gotten their 5th? His good ol' boy nice guy act was nothing but pure BS. He would have sold his own grandmother down the river for another ring. Let's not forget also that FSU got a slap on the wrist from the NCAA for the largest cheating scandal in CFB history because of his good ol' boy shtick.

As I've gotten a bit older, I've come to respect the rivalry a lot more. I don't care for their fans, but these are two teams who often compete for the same players and generally play hard-hitting, fast, clean, games. I respect Bowden for his graciousness in defeat.

On the other hand, I hate UF. I mean I despise them. If they were playing the Taliban, I would root for the Fighting Bin Ladens. I hate them, the school, their fans, the whole **** thing.

When Marlin Barnes died and FSU asst. coaches were showing the articles to respective recruits you really believe in your heart that Bowdown had nothing to do with that?

I sure respect the way Bowden would discipline the inmates and, in extreme cases, suspend them for big-time tune-ups against Citadel. Guy was a crock, Paterno's *****-up and fall from grace is even more devastating because it brought about Bowden's rise again.
