We held the number 39th offense to 400 yards! EXTENSIONS FOR EVERYONE!!!

Just don't mind that Pitt hung up 501 on us, or that Wake put up 360, or that VT put up 550, or that Duke put up 540, or that UVA put up 483. Other than that we're ******* golden.

A slight improvement from horrible to not quite as horrible isn't enough when your fan base is demanding/used to the BEST.
 
He's not making an argument for D' Onofrio. He is making an argument why the administration and or Golden won't fire him.
 
Great, so the support for Coach D keeping his job is that our defense went from one of the worst in school history and one of the worst in the country to a defense that wasn't quite as bad. You know, just because something improves doesn't mean that the improvement was enough or the final result after the improvement was acceptable.

Yes, technically that's improvement, but there has been little progress from game 1 to game 13. And little progress from last year to this year. That's concerning. Frankly, I don't think many of us had this team pegged as a 10 win team, but at least expected progress over the course of the season to suggest that things are getting better. I don't have any expectation that we will improve defensively next season.

That's the definition of polishing a ****. This dude Gammimeal not only polished the ****, but he thought it looked so good after he polished it that he start chewing on it.

On top of that **** polishing and subsequent ingestion, for the bums who only look at stats without digging any deeper, our schedule was light years softer this year that it was last year. There was no improvement at all. In fact, we regressed. Not only did we regress, but we got worse every fcking week until it all culminated with the ultimate abortion on rye against Loserville.

It's retarded. And if that's the argument they're using to retain him, then they and anyone who listens to it are mentally incompetent and should be assigned guardians.

Sure, let's not put our, still extremely poor defensive performance, into any kind of context.
 
No changes will take place because Golden isn't strong enough to fire his friend, not because their has been "improvement".
