Why Have we not been able to Develop good QB's?

We've only brought in three highly rated kids in this time frame.

Kyle Wright, Robert Marve, Jacory Harris

I think Harris was a 3 star on some sites.

Then those guys played under awful coaching staffs and ****ty coordinators. We never stood a chance.

This.

It's mostly the O-coordinator and QB coach who develop QB's. Shannon is a defensive coach so he has nothing to do with QB's; try again.

Shannon bled green & orange but he was a defensive coordinator period, and not a bad one at that. Beyond that, you could easily see he lacked the ability to lead - inspire - and teach others, and wasn't going to blow anyone away with innovative thinking. Coker, jeez he always looked confused.

The constant turnover at OC is to blame for a good chunk of the problem.

THIS. Teams like Va Tech stay very good teams even during years with drop in talent because of coaching continuity. Same scheme year after year makes progress easier. Our problem is we either can't seem to find an OC worthy of the position or one that is that actually WANTS to be in Miami longer than a couple years. Any recent OC over the last decade we've had worth a **** was just using us to get to the bigger stage. That's fine if you're Bama and have Saban and recent championships, but if you're coming off sanctions or just a middle of the road team, it will hurt and hurt badly.

Plus Jacory got his 4th star because his numbers were insane, but we all know all he did was throw bombs off his back foot. Unfortunately that wont work in in Div 1 ball....
