Why hasn't Martinez declared? [Martinez Has Declared for NFL Draft]

this. I think after what he saw on Saturday, he will wait to see what mario does with the QB spot. That will certainly affect his outlook for next season.
Agreed. As we stated there is no Ward in the portal so regardless of who we get (sans Ewers), the offense will be run heavy.

If we get someone competent I think he stays. If we go into spring portal with Emory or Nickel as the de-facto number 1, then he's gone.

I think He’s gone. He did everything he needed to this year, still got 1000 yards even with limited carries plus he’s a running back, want to get to that contract as fast as possible

I think He should be able to go late day 2 or early day 3 in the that 3rd to 4th round range. I’d certainly take him he’s a beast. He has the best contact balance of any running back I’ve seen in a long time. Physical runner

looked fine to me literally on the sidelines. i dont think hes coming back
He limped off the field. I don’t know the severity of the injury but I’m pretty sure the staff wasn’t putting an injured Martinez back in a meaningless game. It’s not like he sat on the bench after halftime. He played well into the second half.

He can come back and share snaps with Mark Fletcher again, not get too much wear and tear. We also have Lyle has the third back. 10-12 carries a game, can make money in college. Why wouldn’t he come back.
Because without a great QB teams will stack the line and the running game will not be as strong. Probably waiting for Mario to see if he is bringing in a decent QB

I love this kid. I’d love to have him back but he has to go. Rb’s don’t have a great shelf life

Wouldn't exactly be an unwise decision if he does return. With the QB situation in disarray currently, we'll most likely be relying on a running game that was a huge advantage this season. Dude's draft stock could most likely escalate should he return and continue over-performing.
He’ll be murderized by defenses knowing we have no passing game and will be overused.

I get that these guys are paid professionals and it has become more about “me” than team, but whatever happened to enjoying the total college experience? What happened to student/athletes? Sad
