Not gonna lie its a really really deep rb class so i could see him wanting to get another big nil and go next year.

Now idk about next years rb class maybe it will be deep as well but i think damien is gonna be a day3 guy either way. The difference probably would be late day 3 this year or early day 3 next year.

A big nil and more exposure for brands from playing in miami could be good for him because RBs careers in the league are short lived. I think getting some more nil guaranteed money could be enticing for him..

Also he could try and get a big nil from another school who is trying to go all in like we tried this year.

This is the corrrect answer. RBs aren’t valued in the NFL like they were 20 years ago. The Lions got destroyed on social media for taking Jahmyr Gibbs in the first round because the belief is you don’t draft RBs that high anymore. Also as you correct my pointed out, their careers are short. Assuming Damien is a day 3 pick, he’s looking at getting around $750-$900k for his rookie season. If he can reup at Miami or hit the portal and get that same amount or more, why not???

He's a 4th to 5th rd pick projection as it's a deep RB class and the position is devalued by NFL GM and HC's. Of note, last year's average salary for a 4th rd pick was a hair under $4.5M. Miami needs to offer this guy about $4M for next season plus pay the premium for an injury policy, name the amount.

No idea what he does, but this is what I'd do if I were him after receiving the proper intel. And if Miami doesn't pay, someone else will.

Note, Miami has no one close to him in the RB room.

That 4.5 million is over 4 years, not per year. And very little of it is guaranteed money.

Those $4m numbers are the value of the entire contract, not annual amounts.

He can come back and share snaps with Mark Fletcher again, not get too much wear and tear. We also have Lyle has the third back. 10-12 carries a game, can make money in college. Why wouldn’t he come back.

After QBs were struggling to throw against the two deep safety’s Ithink that trend maybe changing. There’s like 18 guys with 1k yards. That number can potentially get 25-28 by next week. Teams are going to want good all purpose backs.

I don't think he's back. Just going through the process and no real hurry to announce what is obvious
