Why does a recruit's star rank drop when they pick Miami?

I feel this used to be way more accurate in the past

Rashada will drop probably but not because of a Miami commitment but because he didn’t go lights out at elite 11

The bias is there but not as much as the boards makes it out to be imo

Rivals used to do it to appease the team sites with more subscribers. Keeps them around and renewing, if a kid is off the board for a Bama or Texas then they bump up the uncommitted kids to keep the user base for those schools paying their monthly subscriptions through signing day.

Unreal the level of hate but not surprising.
It’s not even actually true but OK. I mean I hate them all to but the mistaken belief that some recruits got dropped today is laughable

What happened? Did our five star become a two star?
Nothing happened today he was not a five star on rivals and now some kids out here think that he was in that now they show a four-star they’re all crying without knowing that essentially he probably will be a five star when it’s all said and done again especially on 24 seven which has a certain methodology to how they do it

Seriously, people have hated Miami since we rose to national prominence. The swagger, the trash talk......CFB wasn't used to that.

Here's one example:

Miami led 19-3 at halftime, but put the game out of reach with two touchdowns within five minutes in the third quarter. The Hurricanes also set Cotton Bowl and school records for most penalties (15) and most penalty yards (202) in a single game, many of which were for unsportsmanlike conduct. Partly as a result of controversy from this game, the NCAA instituted a new rule stipulating that excessive celebration would be a 15-yard penalty.[1]
One of the greatest football games I ever watched. Not only was the game great but so was Mike Francesca (however it is spelled) hissy fit at halftime and after the game.

247 did have us ranked 8th overall after Francis committed now we are 9th??
Only 3 schools in the top 10 have a higher class rating than we do. UGA, Ohio state, Clemson.
Miami and uga only have 12 commits.
Lsu and Bama (outside of the top ten for now) also have a higher rating than we do with only 11 commits.
We haven’t recruited at this level in a very long time. And some of our recruits are arguably a but underrated.

I think someone in the know reiterated this about lack of development. Can you really blame them with what we've had for coaches until now?
That would be the only explanation. We haven't developed anyone much the last decade or so.

does the ranking say whether Francis is a 4 star or a south Florida 4 star? Because a south Florida 3 star is equivalent to a 5 star, so a south Florida 4 star is actually a 6 star

What would Arch Manning be if he was from South Florida? Infinite stars?

We've known this for years

Now when Mario starts kicking *** as planned, we won't give a crap how those unqualified clowns rate our Cane recruits
