why did sonny leave?

Misguided logic.... splitting reps on the ol wont have anything to do with your nfl stock. He wasnt a 1st or 2nd rounder even if he gets 100% of the snaps. If the nfl thinks you have talent and potential they'll draft you regardless and its really the coaches looking out for a player coming off of injury, tying to lessen the possibility of Sonny getting injured again in his last year.

Clearly starting elsewhere and having twice as much senior film to show nfl scouts won't affect his draft stock. He can just pop the tape in of that injury riddled junior year right?

I bet if Colbert stayed at Texas 3rd on the depth chart he would've still got drafted too.

His name is Sunny BTW, and he wasnt going to play much this year. I dont blame him for transferring.

I can't fault him if that's really the case, he comes off as a good guy who's trying to make the best of what he's been given. I wish him well.

Conversely, I don't blame the univ./staff either, coming off an injury with mediocre success prior, you do what you think is in the best interest of the team.

So they didn't promise him the starting job coming off a major injury? That's all you guys need to feel good about this ******* leaving us thinner at a spot where we were already thin?

I don't believe him anyway. He's a shyster. I wouldn't be surprised if he was the infamous Nigerian prince who swindled so many poor unsuspecting souls out of their life savings via email several years ago.

Come off it, dude! You acting like an angry ******. The guy made a decision that suits him, right or wrong. The coaches made a decision that suits them, right or wrong - they'll figure it out. If they were projecting him 50-50, and let him leave, I'm sure they know what they're doing and feel confident with what they have. After all, this ain't the fumbling bumbling Golden Doritos staff.

I am angry. I hate anyone who does my alma mater wrong. He made a decision that he thinks will benefit him, and I'm taking a stance against him that definitely suits me. He quit on UM, so I hope he fails at everything in life.

You're either Cane or not. (Orange and Green) Blood in or blood out. It's pretty simple

Not even the same situation.... clearly Sonny said that he was told he would start but split the reps. Wtf does having "twice as much film" have to do with anything?

If the NFL thinks he can play they'll draft him you think a team cares if an offensive lineman played 50% or 100% of the time if they think hes good enough??

Sunny would gave plenty of film if he had stayed at UM. He turned his back on his team and his teammates for what he, I think mistakenly, thought was a better business decision for himself. We shall see but I got to turn my back on him.

Playing a 100% of the time will go a long way to make them think he's good enough to be drafted. If we were talking making a practice squad i'd agree with you.

Part of the OL problem last few years? His action tells me yes, and he felt wasn't good enough to compete for playing time here. Remember when his bike was stolen, was probably pulled from his arms by a 5'5 bully

I'm glad he is gone, he had a ton of whiffs in games. I challenge anyone to point out a specific game where he played above average. I don't want "great guys" on my team, I want warriors, especially on the OL.

Corey Gaynor is my guy

I truly understand. But we could all take heed of Mr. Gus Felder's wisdom. Harbor in anger and wishing Sunny ill is only going to harm you, my friend.

I appreciate your spiritual counsel, dear friend. I thank God for D$ and Pete for providing this wonderful community of friends where I can release some of my inner demons and not be consumed by them. Demons out!!!!

I am not going to say anything bad about the guy--because I have nothing bad to say-- but his logic for transferring remains pretty flawed. If he is/was an NFL caliber player, he wouldn't need to transfer from Miami. He was in a maximum exposure situation already.

If he was an NFL calibre player he wouldn't lose his job as a Senior.
